Bio:

Barkley is 2yrs old (will be 3 on February 15th.) He is fawn and white. He came to IBR as a neutered, owner surrender. He was born with very bowed back legs. After being seen by the IBR vet, it is determined that this condition is not correctable. It doesn't seem to cause him any discomfort and certainly does not slow him down. He has a very short compact stature and only weighs 40 pounds. He is a medium to low energy bullie boy. He LOVES to play fetch and chew on any kind of ball (squeaky, tennis, rubber, etc.) He also likes chewing on antlers and femur bones. He does tend to get a little aggressive when someone tries to take his ball or bone. He's showing positive responses to training and correction to this behavior with his foster mom. He likes to play tug-o-war with rope toys. He plays like a puppy and uses his mouth to "wrestle". He doesn't know how strong his jaws are and gets carried away doing this, but he does stop when told to. Because of is rougher play nature, it is recommended that he does not go to a forever home with children (particularily kids under 13.) He is crate trained and house trained. He is trustworthy outside of the crate and can be left out when no one is home. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is good off leash and will stay close and respond to basic commands. He also enjoys being a typical lazy bulldog and lounging around snoozing on dog beds or couches. He does have a nose fold that needs daily cleaning. He takes daily benadryl to keep flare ups of interdigital cysts and general bullie allergies. He hasn't shown any allergies to foods and is currently eating a higher quality grain fee food. Barkley will make a wonderful addition to his future forever family.
