To lessen the salt intake, rinse the canned ingredients. Fresh is always better, but it's not the right time of year usually.
The liquid in the pot is water.

That is funny as you were making the stew naming everything you dont like and I was thinking the same thing! :lol:

Vegas IS looking good! Got it written down and will give it a try this next time I go shopping and get the ingredients. I know my boys will love it cuz well how could they not right? :)

I made this a while back for the girls, even tho they're not on a diet. I just figured it sounded like they'd like it and it would be good for them. I don't like most of what goes into this either, but Gertie and Ida loved it! Think I'll make them some more.

I truely can't get over how good Vegas looks. I'm wondering if I should be giving him more of the stew. He gets 2 cups daily. 1 in the morning and 1 at night.....but he's been begging and getting a little pushy with human food. I hope I'm not starving him. I can finally see his waistline!:eek:

Add some salt and pepper and roast beef to that stew and I'll be over. LOL

That looks easy enough... but do you give them any type of protein? I'm interested cuz I have done so much research on raw feeding. (Although I know you cook yours). I eventually want to do that with my dogs.

He gets this stew as a filler.
He still gets 1/2 cup of his dry dog food every morning and 1/2 cup every evening.
