Tonight I received what looked like a very legitamate e-mail from facebook. It stated that I (or someone else) deactvated my account, and to please reactivate.

The link on the page said http://www.facebook.com - however, when I clicked the link it was not a facebook.com link, it was something like http://facebook-reactivate-ats.com/

Also, my cookies were not stored on the page either, as in my email was not prefilled out, which it should be.

Now that I know a ton about the net and domains, web pages, ect. I knew that this was a hacker. If I did "reactivate" my account on this fake page, they would now have my account username and password.

Bottom line- if you get a message like this, go directly to facebook by entering the ReAL URL; www.facebook.com and see if there is anything wrong with your account. Sure enough, when I went to facebook there was not a darn thing wrong with mine.

Okay here is the webpage it sent me to: http://www.facebook-reactivate.at.tc/

See how it does not say www.facebook.com/ ? This is the KEY that it is not real.

Here is picture of the email I got, looked very real.

I am also getting emails...supposedly from Facebook asking to do a survey and you will get free stuff...the url is going to someplace that is not facebook, so be careful and research it before you go there.

I haven't gotten this one, but I have received some like this from E-bay. Asking to update the account...NOT. I never update anything from an e-mail. I go directly to the site, if there is no message on my account, then I don't worry.

One more reason, I guess, why I don't have facebook. That's pretty slimmy, and I'd probably fall for it, since I'm no brain when it comes to the computer!! :p
