Very nice tomatoes cefe13
sisters3 you will know just by giving them a lightly squeeze. Like in the grocery stores. But if you want them to keep longer, you can cut when they are firmer n they will last on your counter longer throughout the week.

Yes, and if it gets too cold and the tomato plants no longer look happy, we sometimes just pick all the tomatoes (still on their vines) and hang up or put on a tray. But hopefully they will ripen on the plants - it's so nicwe to see red tomatoes against the green foliage.
helsonwheels how are your 19th-c tomatoes doing?

So here’s my beefsteak tomato. Taste great but seeds are so small hard to see them. Will let them dry up. Usually BST are much bigger but we had a horrible summer. Rained all of June n July on this side of Canada while it’s been so hot on the east side. 30-40cel. That’s what tomatoes wants...last photo are with the seeds...

Thanks for posting pics and report! Looks very interesting and how strange that the seeds are so small (on the other hand, a lot of meat on that tomato)!

Thanks friend!!!! How exciting when they begin to turn color, I am so happy!!! Already planning for next year LOL !!!!!!!

I am getting tons of the Sweet 100 Cherry tomatoes and found a really awesome recipe for SAUCE!!! You roast the cherry tomatoes and a head of garlic. When done, let cool and put in food processor with fresh herbs and pulse away. Place in freezer bags for the winter, totally doing this recipe!

Thanks - will try that once my tomatoes have ripened! Sounds easy and delicious. My mum roasts halved tomatoes (low temp for perhaps two hours) and she uses estragon, I think, and serves them as a side order to meat.
