[h=1]Texas officials report dozens sick from parasitic infections[/h] By News Desk | July 3, 2018 Texas officials warned the public Monday about a seasonal increase in infections from Cyclospora parasites, reporting there have been 56 confirmed cases since the beginning of May.
Neither this week’s outbreak notice nor a June 21 health advisory from the Texas State Department of Health Services (DSHS) referenced an ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak in four other states. At least 185 people are infected in that outbreak, which is associated with trays of pre-cut fresh vegetables from Del Monte. :(

Thanks, Lynn,

I don't buy precut, fresh fruits/veggies and had to advise my son
against bringing from restaurants to me, I feel safer with canned or frozen.
As Helene stated, it's imported sources where stands/regulations aren't as
strict. Such a worry to those of us that depend on others to buy our groceries
and aren't as cautious as we are.

Being in the food industry and obligatory to be updated in sanitation, regulations and all that jazz on yearly basis, the first issue with contamination, according to the health food inspectors, is 90% starts with the human. The things I see n hear is amazing. I’ve seen humans cutting raw chicken on a board n using the same knife to cut the veggies two feet beside the chicken. Was too lazy to get away from the chicken and too lazy to get a new clean knife. I sure know you’ll never find me eating in any Chinese restaurants.

We rarely eat out for those exact reasons...UGH!

ALL middle/high schoolers should be taught food prep/safety/cleanliness
since so many parents don't cook now-a days.
