So as empty-nesters, Terri and I decided to sell our house and move to the historical part of town and down size to a small Craftsman Bungalow (my absolute dream house, before even being married or kids)
But as I get the house ready for putting it on the market, I fall in love with it all over again. Then I start thinking. Should I just invest in getting this house to my version of a "dream house" or should I move to what I have been wanting for sometime.
There are so many pros and cons to each.
this house cons: two story (getting older not younger)
almost too large for two people, not historic or in the historic area with shops and restaurants we frequent. great family town but not a wonderful place for us (ultra conservative) Needs to have an updated Kitchen.
Pros: garage, large yard, spa like area with pool in backyard, big enough yard to have RV, close to parents and we do have equity in it
Historic house cons: smaller yard, chances are no garage or room for RV. Most lots are too small for pools. More money for the sq footage, Duval county is higher in Taxes and utilities.
Pros: in area we LOVE, historic, priceless woodwork etc... Smaller for two people and all we have looked at are renovated in Baths and Kitchen!
If only the New Years Resolution Fairy would tell me what to do.
