ok ok it has been Easter, and i love chocolate:luv:. But i don't go really overboard.

Anyways tonight I eat some more and got a headache and had to drink heaps of water.
It has been happening for awhile on and off, I eat chocolate everyday (smallish amounts) but I think and put it together.:idea2::idea2:

It might be chocolate giving me headaches. :yell: Can this be true ????

So I do alittle research and found that indeed it can. Can I live with out it, not sure.

Oh that stinks… LOL
I LOVE dark chocolate, but I never really eat a bunch at one setting. Was it milk or dark chocolate?!!

yep.... something in it can be a trigger. When i was getting regular migraines, it was at the top of the list that the doctor told me to avoid, along with caffine

Chocolate is a big migraine trigger. I suffer from them and I have to limit what I have.

Sadly, yes, chocolate can trigger headaches, especially migraines. Limit yourself to maybe 1 square of chocolate every other day as opposed to daily? Sucks, doesn't it?!

Aww that's so not nice. Chocolate is sometimes a woman's best friend, but I've heard the same thing, that it is a trigger for headaches, especially migraines. Try a little dark chocolate and see if you get the same reaction.

Yes I will be cutting down. I am lucky I don't get migraines, just headaches, I know there is a hugh difference.
Never happened when I was younger they must have changed what goes in the chocolate or I am getting old.

Now I feel alittle silly for not knowing, thanks for educating me LOL

There are two ingredients in chocolate that can trigger migraine headaches: caffeine and phenylethylamine. These substances can constrict blood vessels, and constriction causes head pain.
Some people get a headache if they eat chocolate but not when they drink caffeinated beverages. That is because some people may be sensitive only to phenylethylamine, while others are sensitive only to caffeine. Some people may be sensitive to both.
