So yesterday woke up with a migraine, eyesight gone out of my left eye, throwing up, miserable migraine. Well this morning woke up again with a migraine but not too too bad. Went to the doc and explained it to her and well now I gotta see a neurologist. I'm happy because I've been having them since I was in the 2nd grade. I'm 23 now :/ sad because I'm nervous for what the results may show.

Well I hope it's nothing serious. A friend of mine has the same thing and it's genetic. His grand mother and his mom have the same thing.

Oh no, that's so scary, I hope it's nothing serious, and you can finally find answers and treatment that will help younger relief. Did the sight return in your eye? I hope your okay, and so sorry you're going through this. Sending love, hugs and prayers your way. Please keep us posted on how you're doing, and what the specialist says. Hopefully they do an MRI, so they can give you some answers. Have you not seen a specialist regarding your headaches before now?

Davidh I wish it was genetic. I'm the only one on both sides of my family to have migraines :(
Vikinggirl yes my sight returned but it's not back to crystal clear :/ and when I was younger it was brushed off as me just being a child and since I've joined the navy I've let them know I have migraines and this year is the first time that my schedule has slowed down enough to actually get looked out. For the pass 2 years we've been on back to back deployments.

Good luck. I hope you get answers soon. It very well could be genitic even if no one in your family has shown signs or been previously diagnosed. The only reason I say this is that my daughter has two genetic conditions. 1 we knew about as my mother had it and her other one no one in my had ever been diagnosed with it.

Good luck to you. My son and I both suffer from migraines. We take an oral medication called Maxalt. As soon as we feel the migraine coming on we take it and most of the time it lessens the severity of the migraine. I hope your solution is as easy as that.

Good Luck!! My sister suffers from them really bad. To the point she is bed bound for days. I know how much pain is caused. Wish you luck with the tests

I also get migraines… and I didn't get diagnosed w/them until I was much older. Mine are actually allergy induced, so once I started getting shots I hardly get them anymore. The biggest culprit for me is perfume, especially if someone is SUPER doused in it. I have to be very careful about cleaners as well, perfume is in everything unfortunately… I'm not as bad as most people though, I can take 2 Excedrine Migraine, drink a cup of coffee and take a nap to knock it out!!!

Good luck, I hope you start to feel better soon!!!

Marine91 maybe and they just aren't saying anything about it.
brutus77 yeah I was prescribe maxalt at first at my first command and nothing :( now they gave me sumatriptan but nothing as well :(
4flowers oh goodness I know the pain. But not bed bound for days :/ is she taking anything?
ddnene oh goodness, I don't know how I would be able to bear it if it was allergy induced :/ but the good thing is that you have a remedy :) hopefully once I get results I'll be able to have one as well.

However because it's navy medical, I won't be able to find it when my appointment is until next week. Always a waiting game but that's ok.

Yes, she sees a doctor in PA. Her eyes become very "light sensitive" when she gets them. She's had this since kids, I always remember her having migraines.

My hubby is retired Army… they refused allergy testing for me until he retired. So dang frustrating… They did a FULL panel on me, and out of 44 things I was allergic to like 39 of them. We started shots immediately, 3 shots twice a week and now I'm down to once a month w/nasal spray. It has been a LIFE saver for me...

4flowers that's good that she is seeing someone for them. I wish there was a miracle pill to take it all away.
ddnene are you serious?! That is insane! You seriously have to be on your death bed for help :/ I'm sorry you had to wait to get help but thankfully you are getting shots now :)

It was ridiculous… and my son has already taken the testing, and he had confirmed severe allergies. Now that we are retired we took the Tricare Standard, I don't need any prior approval to see a specialist. Of course they keep cutting our benefits daily, so we will see how long this will hold out. 22 years down the tube :(

ddnene oh goodness. I feel for you on the benefits. My dad served 23 years and only to get a slap in the face because some people wanna change up the game. I am in full support that our veterans/retirees and spouses deserve full benefits for serving our country! If I could just speak my mind to certain people ... -.-
