Yes. Heard about this and something similar many months ago and it was tainted jerky treats as well. So I never give jerky treats to my dogs regardless the manufacturer because I am not always certain where they originated from.

No store bought treats in this house at all for my fur baby. I make all his treats because I don't know where the treats come from or whats in them. If Sheldon gets jerky it will be because I made it. I use his kibble often as treats or ice cubes.

Hi, this is really scary, it seems everything from China is not safe anymore. Here in Canada, a few years back there was a recall on children's toys from China because of toxic paint, also a recall on baby formula, due to finding traces of Melamine in the milk? WTF. How does this happen? Why would anyone or any manufacturer add this to children's products or baby formula? Who oversees these products? Are they sleeping on the job, and would they buy or feed these products their own children? We are also being warned about chicken and fish coming from China as well as it is tainted, and the methods they use to process these meats are not good.

As for the the dog treats and products, I have two friends at work who both lost their dogs this past year, due to Jerky treat products from China. Both of their dogs, one a Sheltie, and one a Maltese mix died from kidney failure, and the vet is pretty sure it's from jerky treats that came from China. It is suspected that Glycerin in the product is the cause, but they are not 100% sure. This is why I also don't give my guys any store bought treats, and especially the jerky treats. I would rather make my own, and we have a couple of pet food and dog supply stores that sell homemade baked goods, with nothing but natural ingredients, and I have bought treats there a couple of times. I usually do what Jennifer does, and use a few pieces of their own Fromm's Beef Kibble, I also give them cut up apples, bananas, strawberries, watermelon, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, hard boiled eggs, cheese strings, and yogurt. It's better to give them natural treats and homemade, because at least you know what is in these products.

Exactly its just too scary for me and if I can avoid it by making my own or using his kibble or using fresh fruits and veggies then that's what I'll do it gives me peace of mind knowing I know what is going into it.

For sure, I think the same way, and also by making your own, and giving fruits and veggies, the ingredients are going to be all natural, so healthier for them in the long run. It s like us eating processed foods, and junk food, it's not healthy, and since we fed them good quality and nutritious kibble, they really don't need the extra junk treats.

Walley-Bubba aka Wooley Bulley aka Walter! aka Landi!!
We saw this on the tele this morning.
This is more alarming than the reports on Trifexis!

I immediately checked our dog treats.
We have Wet Noses Peas & Carrots which is Grain Free and are 100% USDA organic.
So we kept them.

We also had Authority® Chicken Jerky Chewy Dog Treats, again Grain Free.
But the label said Made in Thailand.
So we threw them out just in case.

ps
We have persimmons coming into season and Walley-Bubba loves a few slices of one. Shadow, not so much, must be a terrier limitation :)
