I found this information in one of my women's magazine and gave it a try today.

I use a Swiffer Wet-Jet on my wood floors in the bedroom and the back room. I buy the refill bottles of cleaning solution at Walmart for $5.50. I read to boil water and hold your empty cleaning solution bottle lid in the boiling water for 10 sec. and it will screw off. (it is glued on but it does screw off when you put it in boiling water) Then you can refill with what ever cleaning solution you use half way and half water. I personally use Pine-Sol Outdoor Fresh to mop all my tile in the house.

I tried this today and it worked like a dream, the lid just screwed right back on with no leakage. For $2.00 for my bottle of Pine-Sol I can get about 3 full refill bottles of my Swiffer. Savings of $14.50 !! Just wanted to share if anyone uses a Swiffer.

kazzy220, I KNOW!! I was so pleased with it I had to post, lol. I use my swiffer for quick jobs, and for the wood floors in my bedroom. I was buying the Swiffer aniti-bacterial cleaning solution, which I did like the smell, now my whole house can smell like the Pine-Sol outdoor fresh that I use on my tile.

kazzy220 That is exactl what is on the bottom om my wet jet right now!!! I use what are know as prefold cloth diapers and just wash them instead of buying the pads . It works great!!! Figured this out when I was all out of pads and had a HUGE mess to clean

So I loved my wet jet but I detested the price I had to pay for the products. I finally broke down and bought a shark steam thing. Not the spendy one, but the basic $69 one. Omg. Worth every penny. Toss the pad in the wash, simple and easy and just use water. I love, love, love it.

You can just get microfiber face cloth's we have an automatic sweeper thing to keep up with Bacon's shedding and we just use them. It is the same footprint as the swiffer and works like a charm, it's even cooler 'cause it runs on autopilot and does wet and dry cleaning of the hardwood floor
