I thought this was a wonderful non-profit community support idea... Boarding can be very expensive for any period of time, plus can be very stressful experience for a dog. Here's a resource for helping military scheduled for deployment find temp homes for their dogs until they can return  http://www.dogsondeployment.com/Home/Overview.html

What a great concept. In this military area, this is so needed.

My husband's best friend uses this program. He is a Major in the Army and has done three year long deployments. He is single and has three dogs that are his babies. It is so great that people are willing to do this. It has kept his family together.

That's a wonderful program. The rescue that we foster for has had sooo many dogs go through there due to their parents being deployed. Happy to hear there is something that can help find a temporary home for their pets!
