My Bertie is 6 months old and weighs 33lbs. She is a little piggy! She is starting to get round! but the vet says she is just right and that she is going to stay small.

it all depends on where or what stock he/she came from. the us average is 60 lbs these days. but I have had two in the last 12 yrs that were 70 plus lbers. it is what is the normal for that line. closer to 60 is best, and the more towards that weight is better on the dogs hips.knees.
But what I am concerned about is the 1 1/2 cups twice a day. more than twice the normal amount of food. if the food is good food, 1/2 cup once adulthood is reach twice a day is fine. while pups I would give 3/4 cups twice a day. THE REST GOES OUT INTO THE YARD!!! but add fruits and veggies as treats, the more raw the better, NO ONIONS GRAPES/RAISINS ****
