I am not on here often enough and I will likely forget to post on NYE, so while it is on my mind now...
This year was rough but we got through it. On March 21st Curly displayed his first major symptom that some was wrong: bloody diarrhea. We had noticed his lymph nodes had increase in size but he was just at the vet a couple weeks earlier so we brushed it aside.
March 21st was also exactly 6 months to the day that we untimely lost our French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix. To this day, I still think he gave us the sign to take Curly back to the vet.
Curly was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma and it turned my world upside down.
I hadn't posted on here in months but at that moment I decided to come here.
I feel so fortunate to have EBN as an outlet and so many caring EBN members reaching out with their advice, prayers and well wishes. I only really talked about all his treatment, the ups and downs here. I didn't want to burden my friends who didn't quite grasp what it is like to be an EB owner...we are a special breed, just like them. I thank you all for that.
Today, I also think about what we have accomplished, especially Curly. Not only has he been in remission for almost 4 months, throughout 2019 he triumphantly lost 20lbs. A triumph because he was on steroids for about 3 months out of the 12 and he still lost weight.
I digress, happy 2020 to all my EBN family. I wouldn't have made it through this year without you.
