Hi everyone, I know lots of you do fresh kraut for a probiotic. I have finally gotten some and I wanted to get your feedback on how much and how often to do give? Because I wasn’t sure I have only given a few shreds at dinner the last 2 days.

Also, do you give different anoints for different ages??
Currently I have 11yr beagle/basset
1.5yr EB
6mo EB (rescue... but hopefully to become permenant) [emoji3590]

Thanks in advance !!
Zep, Stella and puppy (to be named)

I think I give about 1 tablespoon to Louie and he's about 62 pounds. Jax my Frenchie gets less than that. I think it's more weight than age for amount to give.

Thanks all of you. Just one question, how frequently? Do you give everyday? Cbrugs helsonwheels @ 2bullymama

Yes daily unless you’re giving other probiotics elsewhere like frozen tripe. If you miss a day don’t worry about it. Also if you’re feeding raw, you do have some natural probiotics in raw. :)

Ok, last question... its been 2 days they have been getting the kraut and now they all have a pretty loose stool/ diahrea..
Do you think it's just their systems need to get used to it?
I have ben giving as you all directed.

Just wondering how long the adjustment period should be.
The only other probiotic they are getting is a table spoon of whole greek yogurt with breakfast. ( teaspoon for puppy)
They are not on raw, and typically do just fine with their food.

Thanks everyone!

I,d stop the yogurt... and limit the amount of Judie from the kraut to see if they level off

Agree...stop the yogurt. You can also start with a lower amount and then build up to full amount.

This is an adjustment and like mentioned remove the yogurt for time being. Like there’s no need to over supplement. You can also rotate if you want with a food probiotic. If the stools are loose, jump a day or so till stools are back to normal. Then slowly daily if not on raw meals. Another note if you’re giving ACV that too is on the fermented side. As it’s fermenting the sugars from the apples then a bacteria is added which is called the mother. So if you’re also adding acv, keep an eye on the amounts of fermentation foods. Needs to be balanced out. :)

I have my two on the Herbsmith Microflora... the yogurt was causing issues, and of course Ms. Picky refused to eat it!!! These dogs are a royal PITA sometimes
