Having done this a few times I have some suggestions...

Have the initial meeting in a neutral place, a park or down the street... that way territory doesn't become an issue. Always make sure someone is with them... watch for warning signs, ears back, growling or tail down. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are fighting or playing... so make sure to be on hand in case things escalate. Most puppies get NEW things, so try to get the older pup NEW toys as well... they will fight over them and that is extremely normal. Keep food and water bowls separated and keep an eye out... food aggression can escalate quickly, but most puppies learn early on warning growls. When the puppy is sleeping or at night, put them in a crate (I had Willow in our bathroom with the door shut) so the older dog can get a break... puppies can be exhausting on older dogs as well.

We would LOVE to see pics of your new family... good luck!!!
