So took an appointment for my brat cause itā€™s been a couple weeks one eye tears n itā€™s red. This morning the eye had issues to stay open. Mind you his eye was sure open when he saw his raw breakfast! Lol. Days the eye was great n days it leaked more. He was due for a check up anyway so....I only brought him n not Nyala. She sure wasnā€™t too happy about that. They are glued to the hips these 2...What a dirty look I got walking out the door! Trying to teach Duke to do his own thing without relying on Nyala like he always does. Anyhoooo, while my back was turned and locking the door, my idiot decided to jump the 5 cement steps and landed on his acne chin! Blood everywhere..my hands, cement pad, back seat...I cleaned him up...:facepalm2: sitting in the vets office, the vet comes out looks at Duke and started to laugh. I had my paper towel with his blood all over it. (While driving he bleed again)....Ok what did he do this time? I swear this dog is labeled! Should of called him Denis....the Menace!

Ended up getting drops cause he has a little infection in the eye like pink eye, got cream for his pimples since they all burst flying on the cement! He weighs 49lbs, his heart n lungs are great, skin and hair perfect. Healthy little guy!

Oh Duke, what would we do without you!

Before all this stuff happened with Jax, he had something similar with his eye. Crusty, oozing with boogers even right after wiping it, couldnā€™t open it. So took him to vet, I donā€™t like messing around with eyes just in case. Same thing, little infection, got drops and was better in a couple days.

And...one time Louie was playing with his actual brother and we noticed Louie has blood on his head so Iā€™m searching and searching thinking he got hurt...nope, his brothers chin acne popped while they were playing and the blood got all over Louie!

Walter has the same issue w/his eyes... it's been like this ALL summer!!! Vet is coming tomorrow so I'm going to ask her about it, I had thought the cytopoint shots were going to help w/this. Ugh... so frustrating!!!

Sorry to hear ! Try buying some Polysporin eye drops next time one of the dogs gets an eye problem, since it doesn't need a Rx, and if that doesn't start working in a day head to vet.

Iā€™ve been putting polysporin over a week before going to the vet. Helped a bit but I just rather have it check since itā€™s the eyes. She put this yellow liquid in his eye to see if it was scratched and nope, not scratched. :whew: Today he just wonā€™t open it :( he only does when he eats. Go figure that one out. Iā€™ll give him a couple more days see what happens.

Entropion, maybe? However, a dye test will usually show any abrasion from the lashes. It may soon be time to see and eye specialist.
Get better Duke!

Yes she did the dye test and it was all good...his eye is a bit swollen in the corner comparing to the other eye. When he opens the eye you sometimes see the 3rd gland in the corner cream colour. White Inner eye is very red. Iā€™ll give him another 24hrs see how he is...

Glad itā€™s nothing major about the eye.

Funny....Iā€™m not the type that canā€™t handle anything. Just throw it at me n Iā€™ll fix it ā€œtype personā€. But when it comes to eyes....thatā€™s one thing I wonā€™t screw around with. You just canā€™t replace eyes.

Same here. I do not mess around when it comes to the eyes as things can go bad real quick. Why when it happened to Jax a few months ago, he went straight to the vet. They did the yellow dye test too to check for scratches but it was just an infection and it cleared up after a couple days with the drops.
