Thank you for your prayers and positive vibes.
The situation got drastically worse I feel. At night he wouldn't lay down because he was in so much pain. Any movement caused him to cry out. We spoke to the breeder and gave him low dose 81mg Bayer Aspirin to help with the pain. In the middle of the night he started panting. I ended up sleeping with him on the floor for a good 3 hours or so.
This morning he got up and has stood on his feet for the last hour. We are waiting for the vet to open at 8 and taking him to the doctor. I will keep you all posted.

Went to the vet. They did an xray and checked all of his body. Good news is xray showed nothing. From the way he was walking the Doc said it doesn't seem like a ACL tear. Conclusion is that it is most likely a knee injury. They gave us painkillers and told us to have him crated for 2 weeks. If the problem persists then they would have to do an MRI.
At the doctor they picked him up and put him down at least 5 times. I picked him up and carried him to the car and he showed no signs of pain. We got home, I tried to pick him up and put him in his pen and he cried out. So weird!

This is our first bulldog and we aren't used to this, we were so worried about him.

Well that's god news on the X-ray!
Bella hurt her back right leg a couple of months ago. Same thing here they gave her an inflammatory and told me to keep her crated and leash walked to go potty (That was probably harder on me than her)
    She is all better!
Hope he feels better real soon!

Keep in mind when you are at the vet they are nervous or just plain amped up and the adrenaline will cover any pain. When they get home the pain is back because the adrenaline has diminished. So that could explain why no pain at that office but the pain is back when at home.

Our Nitschke had his kneecap turn due to an ACL tear and it was painful... surgery was needed

Jewel has had 2 ACL surgeries and Bentley 1. Been there and done that. Xrays only bones. ACL tears are detected by the Drawer Sign in a physical exam of your bully. I am glad your vet gave you some piece of mind. We had that as well. The pain killers will help as well as the limited activity. If there is an ACL tear, Moose will be limping again after some activity.

    We hope Moose recoups quickly.

How's Moose doing? I read your earlier post, did you bring him to asbury park this past weekend?

We took him to Asbury Park but he didn't really seem excited as he normally would be. He didn't want to walk. We thought it was maybe because he was overwhelmed. He was panting the whole ride down even with the AC in the car...now we know he was in pain...

I put an ipad today to record him while we were at work...it's painful to watch

Moose needs to see a specialist. It’s not hips or knees. It’s in his spinal area north of his belly. Orthopedic spine specialist. Again, these are just guesses. I think he needs help that is likely beyond the ability of a regular vet. Bulldogs notoriously have a high pain threshold. He’s hurting bad, very bad to be crying out like that from such little movement.

I don't think anything can be ruled out. I thought the same thing that it may be back or spine. However, the vet literally for 5 minutes twisted and stretched his entire body and he showed no indication of any pain. She maneuvered his neck, each part of his arms, everything. If it was something serious he would have shown some paralysis or indication, no? Also, his stance is narrow on the back legs and I can clearly tell he is not applying pressure to the right foot. So I still think that it is some knee injury. The first indication he gave was when I put him down with his back feet touching the ground first. It could be a pinched nerve or something going down the body that gives him that pain when he tries to move.

I know he's hurting bad and it's so heartbreaking to see. I am hoping he shows a tiny bit improvement. I will give him until the weekend and if not take him to an orthopedist.
