This was posted to reinforce the danger of Xylitol. A sweet young bulldog puppy died because of it. So sad.

2 July at 15:48 ·

I am incredibly saddened to share that we lost our wonderful puppy Lola this Friday due to a horrible tragedy. I want to share this to help prevent it from happening to someone else. A few days ago ( without us knowing) she got into some sugar free gum with Xylitol - we are guessing she ingested 2-3 pieces. She started to throw up, drink a lot of water and urinate everywhere. Took her to the ER Vet and they kept her overnight, by the next day she was in liver failure and her blood was unable to clot. She was bleeding internally and her liver was dying. There was nothing they could do for her and we had to make the very difficult choice to put her to sleep. I am literally heartbroken - she was my righthand gal. She went everywhere with me and I was smitten with her. I had no idea that Xylitol was so lethal to dogs - it is in MANY food products and is 100 times more toxic than chocolate. I am going on a mission to shame companies for using it in food products and not warn consumers. PLEASE do not keep products in your home with Xylitol if you are a dog owner - it only takes a small amount to cause death. I would love for you to share my post as a way to honor my snorty, super-sweet girl who I miss so much😢

Tragic deaths leaving shattered, heartbroken owners mourning their
beloved pets.

Peanut butter is a popular treat and it's in many brands of this food.

Increasingly, our pets & ourselves are eating/drinking chemical poisons,
many times unaware, these companies HIDE these things from us. We
use toxic chemicals on our bodies, absorbed thru our skin, they are in
our drinking water, in our air-where & how to avoid ingestion & exposure?

I am severely affected with several auto-immune diseases, they've changed
my life, negatively and I suffer every day, they have changed me in ways I
never imagined. My sweet Cami will be my last bulldog as it's increasingly
difficult taking proper care of a bulldog's multiple daily needs being chronically
ill & weak, fatigued, in pain, my hands almost unusable. Financially difficult to
feed her healthy food & vet her as needed, her last UTI costs me $550. At 62,
and the toll of illness for 20 years, I worry about dying and leaving another bully,
my son's lifestyle has no time to care for one, I will not do that!

Anyways, thanks sincerely for listening, y'all, so so fed up with the loss of control
or any real power to fight these huge conglomerates & the greed that is causing
lifelong suffering for so many (death is actually less cruel), auto-immune disease,
cancer & other evils growing daily & stealing our loved ones, friends, neighbors &
coworkers from us and bankrupting those fighting to return to health.

May God hear our cries, heal us, protect us & take out these demons asap!

Thank you, dear Jill, your love & prayers are treasured & so appreciated.

Big hugs to you & Hank, just love your avatar pic of him looking proud & regal :)

I do TRY to focus on my blessings and am grateful & give thanks. A new health
crisis has arrived involving yet another body part, my eyes & prognosis is grim.
Feeling sad for all the dear bullies gone so young & aware of Cami's age at 9 1/2
has me aware how precious every day is with her. Trying to come to terms that I
won't have another one :(

Tomorrow will be a new day and a better one! XOXO

Oh, Carol, this breaks my heart to hear this. I am so sorry you are suffering so. I wish I had a magic cure. Our bullies bring us incredible joy and to think we will at some point have to be without them is truly upsetting. I know I am on my last cat unless I take in a really senior one after he has gone. I hate that we get to a stage in our lives that these things are even a consideration. Hugs and prayers to you.

Texas Carol you're 200% right. All that's put into our food for the pass 40yrs is scary. Last 10 years it's the people that's pushing for eating clean. Sad when eating fresh is more expensive than process/junk food. Meds are extremely expensive and I believe you especially living in the US with their medicare that people are/going in bankruptcy. Managing a budget is not a government's forte! Sad people have to suffer like you for their ignorance. Medicare should be free for everyone!
