Have any of your dogs gone through this? I'm happy to say that Lucy (11 month old) is finally on the upswing (I hope). We have been dealing with this issue for almost 2 months. Started as scratches on her eyes (I'm assuming from rooting around in the field next to our house) we thought the scratches were healing nicely, and then one turned into an ulcer right after thanksgiving. She was vigorously scratching her eyes. We then had to put a cone on her and did 3 eye treatments 3 times a day for a week and also gave a heavy pain med. her eyes got worse! And the vet sent us to a specialist. Specialist gave something for inflammation of her eyes and an eye ointment and we continued with the pain med when needed and come back in 2 weeks. It's and hour drive one way to the specialist. She was still miserable. So I took her to our local mom and pop pet shop for an outing and to pick out some treats to spark some ambition in her. The shop owner asked me to try cbd oil with her. Well, after taking the cbd oil for 4-5 days, she is a new dog! She is herself again! Playing, running around and being happy agian! I can take her cone off without her scratching after she has her oil. We went back to the vet and they told us to keep doing what we are doing. We have not need using any pain med or the anti-inflammatory. She opens her eyes and isn't squinting anymore. The vet did not even need to numb her eyes to do her checkup. We are going back again in 3 weeks to check her progress. The eyes themselves look horribly, but the vet says that is the healing process and that the ulcers are half the size.

So I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through eye ulcers, and what have you done for them?

many here have had the ulcers and scratches, most have had great success with the ointment from the vet

Seriously, how did you use it exactly? How many drops etc? I assume it's in her food? Curious..

It's basically Hemp oil (cannabis/weed/pot) . It is extremely great for joint issues! Its basically omegas but treated differently. I met a lady and her dad who is a farmer from the old school that works hard took the hemp oil and told her he was pain free. But the old man is a cheap dude so its the daughter that buys it for him lol... Yes keep giving it to Lucy. But start every other day like every 2 days "after" her eye is healed. See how it goes. Also, to save money, hemp oil for human's is the same for dogs. You will always pay more if it has a doggy label. Read the back of the doogy one and compare to the human one. You will see and judge for yourself. Take the ones that you buy in the fridge. A bit like Sauerkraut, you want the one in the fridge and not on shelves in a can. Da good stuff! Lol

Yes! Exactly! It's cannabis oil without the high effect (thc) in it. Because of her severe inflamation, we are giving her 3-5 drops morning and evening. I just put it right in her mouth. She just licks it right up. It's very sticky and thick like a syrup. My local mom and pop pet store sells it for pets and humans. They even told me it's the same bottle with different labels.
