I got up early because I wanted to check to see if I could catch a glimpse of Moe sleeping. By early, I mean 6:45am. Vegas was snoozing away under the covers and Orion was in her kennel snoring. I snuck downstairs for a few quiet moments before they woke up. I was horrified to learn about the tsunami and I immediately starting looking for info about the possible damage to the Pearl Harbor area having Moe and Telly03 in mind. At 7:45 I realized I needed to get my butt in gear. I had planned on taking Vegas to daycare before my scheduled shift at 9. I went upstairs and got the kids up...then raced downstairs to feed them. While they were eating I raced back upstairs to finish drying my hair and getting dressed. I raced back downstairs and got Vegas into his seatbelt harness and buckled into the car.
Vegas and I left about 45 minutes before I had to be at work. The daycare is about 5 minutes out of my way...so we had plenty of time....or so I thought. The traffic on the road leading out of town was backed up due to the power outage from a wind/rain storm the following day. That delay took about 10 minutes to get thru. I dropped Vegas off and got back on the road. I was running on time...as long as I didn't hit traffic. Or a land slide. Which I did. The road leading out of the valley was blocked due to a land slide ! I jumped back on the freeway and took the next exit and went around...arriving at work 1 minute after 9. I clocked in and I started working. I'm thinking about Vegas and hoping he minds his own bubble when I realize that I neglected to give Vegas his seizure meds. I started to stress out. He's at daycare where he is bound to get excited and tired and more than ever he needs his meds. I call my MIL and she said she would deliver his meds to him at daycare.
She saved the morning.
And she saved the evening. I was supposed to get off at 5pm..Vegas needed to be picked up from daycare and Orion had a dr appt for her eye. Both are at the same clinic. We were short handed and too much work needed to be done, so I ended up having to stay over. Luckily my MIL met me at the clinic with Orion and once I got Vegas out of daycare...she took him home for me.
I thought Orion's eye was doing better, but yesterday it looked slightly swollen and irritated. She didn't want to open it....almost like it was light sensitive. At the clinic, they put a dye in her eye to look for any scratches. There weren't any. I asked about inverted eyelashes..and the Dr said "inverted eyelashes usually irritate the eye due to scratching..but she doesn't have any scratches". So, who knows what is going on there. Her eye looks so much better than last night..but we got an antibiotic eye drop to help with it.
That was my day. Vegas is so tired. They said he played well and he played hard. Most important...they said that he stuck with a group of dogs that he seemed to favor last time he was in. They said he was very well behaved.
Now it's nighty night for him. He has no energy to even pull himself up on his own couch.
