Is my puppy gaining weight too fast?

Moose is 9 weeks and one day. We got him at 8 weeks and he weighed 8.4 pounds . We weighed him today and he is 11 pounds. We are feeding him a little bit under half a cup 4 times a day currently, he gets as much exercise as he can indoors (its snowy in ks right now). Is this an average weekly weight gain for a puppy? Maci was the runt and was fairly small so we just aren't sure what to expect with him.

Moose is doing fine. Weeks will be more, weeks will be less. I recall Nyala gaining 6lbs in one week . She averaged 2-3lbs a week. She was on orijen puppy. Best food for puppies and very rich in calories. Again, Moose is doing fine. Dont worry about the weight especially at that age. If he gets plenty of exercises, sleeps well, drinks fresh water, gets good oils and a couple snacks, you shouldn't worry!

I would not be concerned at this stage as long as you are feeding him correctly, he will gain

Here is a good guideline for feeding

8 weeks	1/2 cup 3 times a day
12 weeks	2/3 to 3/4 cup 3 times a day
4 & 5 months	3/4 cup 3 times a day
6 months to 1 year	1.25 to 1.5 cups twice a day
