So I have a flight to my hometown across the country in a few weeks and I'm stayin for a week so I'd like to bring my two Bulldogs with me but my airline doesn't allow them to fly with me in the cabin and I have t found any other option for flying them to get there. I can always board them for the week but I want my family to see them and I'd rather not be without my dogs for a week especially my soon to be 4 month old puppy. She will have her vaccinations complete before I leave I'm just wondering if there's any airline or anything that'll fly my bulldogs if not it's fine. Thanks.

Unless they can fit under the seat crated, I don't know of any US airline that allows it. Most of them won't fly brachycephalic breeds in the hold either. Bulldogs and flying don't mix.

Emotional support dogs are allowed to fly in the cabin with you.

I would never put my dog in the hold.

You have very limited options if any... most airlines do not fly Bulldogs due to the danger to them

BEFORE I GO OFF ON MY RANT -------- DO NOT FLY WITH YOUR BULLDOGS ------ IF THEY CAN NOT BE IN THE CABIN WITH YOU (AND THEY BOTH WONT BE ALLOWED) THE MORTALITY RATE FOR MUSHIE FACED DOGS IS ASTRONOMICAL WHEN FLYING !

Emotional support dogs are allowed to fly in the cabin with you.

WARNING ----- MY RANT 'Service Animals vs Emotional Support Animals vs Therapy Animals'

SERVICE Animals are allowed to fly with you.

Emotional Support Animals are allowed to fly with you -- WITH A PRESCRIPTION / LETTER from Doctor/Mental Health Specialist When "the passenger has a mental health-related disability listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV)" - just 'saying' they are Emotional support animal does not make them such.

Service Animals are trained to do a specific job -- Service Animals have 'Card Blache' can go ANYWHERE --

Emotional Support Animals are **PETS** -- Emotional Support Animals are NOT allowed in Restaurants, Grocery Stores etc

Therapy Support Animals are **PETS** -- Therapy Support Animals are NOT allowed in Restaurants, Grocery Stores etc.

Too many people are buying vests online, trying to pass their pets off as a service animal -- which they are not. Service Animals and their Disabled partners are being shut out of public places BECAUSE of these False/Fake/Phoney animals - Service Animals are being attacked and bitten by these 'Non Service' Animals -- as Service Animals are HIGHLY Trained.

Emotional Support Animals is being abused which hurts Service Animal and their Partners rights -- Those who only want to bring your pocket book dog with you wherever you go. The same people who abuse these 'Emotional Support Animals' (in General) are the same ****grrr**** Idiots who borrow a handicapped placard from their disabled relative and park in HC Spots 'because they have a placard'.

Ask a very simple question of the owner of an Animal --

'What specific job, has this Animal been trained to do' - If I drop something, it picks it up, it opens doors, it tells me when I'm going to have a seizure or needs my meds.

'It helps me when I feel Anxious' is *NOT* a trained Job - hence is not a SERVICE Animal

Sorry.. off of my rant ... I'll wheel myself through the parking lot, due to inconsiderate - Non Mobility Impaired people walk perfectly fine into the grocery store with their 'Emotional Support' animals --

Sorry off of my Rant now.

Khaleesi.. guess everyone has covered your question. Hey I bought Nyala as she is a "mini" bulldog. I swear I wanted mini so I can travel with her. I was told and researched all on minis. 25-30lbs max and shorter. Well.... Ms Muffet surpassed as my carry on! 45lbs. Too big to fit under the seat! Im telling you Orijen is like bad weed. They grow n grow n grow.....Seriously, allowed or not, I wouldn't put her in any cargo.

Ok..that's better... for whatever reason, when I reply with a quote, it screws up me typing SPACES.. helsonwheels I'm sorry you were taken by the 'MINI SCAM' as you now know, there is not such thing as a 'Mini' -- yes.. some dogs are breed with the idea to be on the small side of average. But you wont ever get a 15-20lb bulldog, that some of these sites make you believe you will get.

Sorry about that... but..ya have 2 wonderful pups :) :) :)

No..the litter are mini or smaller version. Ive seen a couple of her siblings to this day. Nyala just grew. These are not the mini 15-20lbs like the scams going around. Nyala's mini is between 25- 40. I was just hoping for the 25lb one. They are french with english. She's more on the english side. If you do research on English bulldog, they arent pure either. They are man made. And I wasn't taken by a scam I just did not want a big bully. Nyala's kind are smaller. Not the so call mini mini. Its just me that calls her mini as she's much smaller that a regular bully. I should probably stop calling her mini. My bad.

bumping an old thread and wanted to reply to this rant. While I 100% agree that people should not game the system because there are actual disabled people who need service dogs, and the program is for them and them alone .... I find it utterly ridiculous and unfair that our dogs have been banned from planes, and we are given zero other options.

If you are not going to allow english bulldogs in the cargo area of the plane (and you shouldn't) then airlines should be required by law to allow them in the cabin. Period.

The fact that they do not allow this forces people to "game the system" and lie to everyone, as well as deal with hours of awkward discomfort (mentally) because of that lying, and anxiety and bad attitudes from the ticket counter, to the stewardesses, etc.

We should not be forced to lie, just because we need to get our dogs transported. Leaving us with no options is unethical. And as a result I absolutely will lie and pretend my dog is a service dog and / or emotional support dog.

Because I dont want him to die.

I have to relocate to Puerto Rico soon, which means I can't drive there. And I have an english bulldog that has to come with. So what are my options? Literally my only option is to pay $30,000 for a private jet.

Just wanted to present another side to this debate of "Dont abuse the service dog program!". Well, then airlines should give english bulldog owners some options.

At least, the OP said, itā€™s ok if he/ she canā€™t bring the bulldog on flight.

Yes, I completely agree that the breed not be on a flight. Too risky for them breathing wise. I heard they tranquilize the pet on a flight must be in a crate and I guess they are put under the plane. I donā€™t like the sound of that. I would travel in a truck or car with my girl. I have a parent living in a different state thatā€™s 14 hours drive .

They will not allow your dog or cat to fly in the hold if it has been sedated. It makes a potentially dangerous situation even more dangerous.
