I was looking for shoes for Porkchop in case it was a grass allergy causing his foot problems. I was cautioned that because dogs sweat through their pads, shoes will restrict this especially in warm or hot weather, causing the dog to overheat. One lady wrote that her bulldog overheated in 20 minutes and had to go to an emergency vet and the poor dog ended up with IVs, etc. Her vet told her that dogs with the smooshed faces are more likely to overheat than dogs with snouts. So in Pork's case, I wash his feet after walks. In the case of Truman, he probably needs to work up gradually to hard pavement, toughen up the pads. Romp in the grass, get some game going in the house maybe.
