The free ones I get from grocery and big box stores. I buy Nitrile gloves from Costco for all messy jobs, scoopers are just too cumbersome for me. I also pick weeds around the yard too when I "pick up", kill two birds with one stone thing I guess. I can appreciate the whole earth friendly gesture but seems like no matter how hard I try we (as a family) still end up with those plastic bags, so might as well get another use out of them. I do recycle a big handful every few weeks as well.

Well with 5 dogs all large ( you have not seen a large PooP till you see a ODIN PooP ) I first use the 40 inch wide sit down lawn mower blades set on LOW , that sort of makes a fine spray , I made a custom directional side vent on the right side so I can drive with one hand and direct the spray evenly with the other . I was thinking of getting mulching blades but the cost wow $ 300. CDN brutal !

Naw I do use a shovel tho and rake , goes in a green bin which is kept near the composters to keep animals away from them then off to the dump it goes once a week , I use large construction grade garbage bags and must be clear so the garbage guy can see threw them so no contraband goes into the dump
YOU MIGHT BE A BULLDOG IF...

...everyone else in a room with you is pinching their noses
...you snore like a chain saw.
...it takes too much energy to beg
...your snore is louder than your bark
...you have never seen your tail...what is a tail anyways?
...you're the loudest snorer in the house.

@sisters3 i love these bags! Only ones we use. Except I've never tried the handle ones haha.

We only do walks, don't have a yard where he just goes and we do cleanup later. But i would probably still use them, feel much better about them being biodegradable if they're going straight for a landfill. Any time i use a grocery bag, i pick the one with a hole -_-

You MUST try the ones with the handles, much easier to tie...on the go. SAME....I always seem to find the bag with the hole when I use grocery bags

Do they come in rolls that you can put into the little dispenser? Maybe I'll give em a try next

Not sure if they come in a roll, I don't use the dispenser that hooks on the leash, I just tie 2 of them on the leash handle at all times, so I have back up

That's why I use the side of the holey bag without the hole to pick up the poop, twist up the bag, and then stick in another bag. I always double bag. That way if he goes more than once you throw all those bags into the same bag and prevent stuff from getting out.

Watch the biodegradable bags! I once had a bag left in a pocket of a coat that I hadn't worn in a while. It started to disintegrate in the pocket. It was bright pink. Every time I put my hand in the pocket, little flecks of pink plastic would fly out--all over whatever or whoever was near where I was standing! It was so embarrassing! I would say, "Where is that coming from?"

Food Lion, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods...haven't tried the Trader Joes bags yet.

Food Lion bags are the worst...they're a lot like Walmart bags except with holes in the bottom. Capacity 4 lbs.
Kroger bags are bit more sturdy and have few if any holes...Capacity 5-6 lbs.
Harris Teeter bags are on par with Kroger...probably because Kroger owns Harris Teeter...Capacity 5-6 lbs.
Whole Foods has superior bags as of last year(the last time I visited there) and we save them for special occasions. I've filled them nearly to the handles...so much so that tying them off was a chore...Capacity 15+ lbs.
The above statement begs the question, "How does one accumulate enough nuggets to completely fill a plastic grocery bag?"
    Well, let me tell you...
7 Bulldogs x 2Poops @ (3/4 lb. each) x 2 Days = 21 lbs. When a day gets skipped due to time constraints or bad weather those Whole Foods bags come in handy.

    And for you math Wizs...
If a Bulldog and a half can make a pound and a half(of poop) in a day and a half, how much poop can 7 Bulldogs make in 6 days?

Chip, Chip,Chip... I'm not a math wiz but here goes... if 7 bulldogs produce 21 lbs in 2 days, then in 6 days said bulldogs will produce 63 lbs. I know the equation has something to do with common denominators but I just did it on my fingers. I thought this might be a trick question so I googled it and came up with conflicting statistics... and a lot of porn. There are some real sickos out there. The most scholarly article I could find was from the "Watershed Protection Techniques Journal" published in 1999 which states that dogs poop (they called it "unit discharge" in the article... I bet those Watershed Protection people are a real hoot at parties...) about .32 lbs/day. Interestingly, it also states that humans poop .35 lbs/day. I assume there is some standard deviation that factors in, but really, at the end of the day, not a big deal. So there you have it... as for me, I'm a double bagger, grocery bags all the way.
