So this past Saturday 2am we end back up back in the ER, still fighting this Pneumonia, on call Vet takes Xrays, and shows us there is still the presence of infection, gives Ellie shots of antibiotics and a steroid, and gives us Doxycycline, and Tameril-P. and advised that once Ellie is better, that she be vaccinated for the strains of Canine Flu, since we did mention that she goes daycare, also in that conversation, from what I remember at 2AM, he did mention seeing an Internal Medicine Specialist.

So mama goes on a hunt to find a specialist, and did find one at the Red Bank Vet Hospital, here in NJ, and amazingly was able to get an appointment on SUNDAY, we were lucky that this had been one of her working Sundays, got all Ellies records send over, and met with Dr. Durocher, who is an AMAZING Vet I might add.

Dr Durocher's evaluation was a HUGE relief, as she said Ellie is growing normally, and her Esophageal Pocket is most likely breed related, and not an issue for most, and she didn't wasn't showing any severe clinical signs of that, or Mega E or PRAA, though she was a little concerned that she might a sliding Hiatal Hernia, but again also said she was not showing any clinical signs as well, one last thing she did want to keep any eye on was her potassium level, as in her blood-work it was little high, so once she is done with her medications, she would like her blood-work done again, so she can check for signs of possible, Addison's Disease, she also recommended moving her back slowly to normal feeding in and elevated dish, and reduce her motility medicine, to see how well her Esophagus works on its own, and she also felt that physically elevating 45-90° Ellie for eating was little bit of overkill, at this point, that was my MOST favorite part.

We are going to give this a try and see how it goes!! :) Keep those fingers, and paw crossed, and prayers coming!!

sisters3 - Sue, you are not kidding!! - It was so wonderful to get some relief from the new Dr. and she also said she would contact Ellie's primary Vet, Dr. E, and let him know everything we discussed and what she would like us to do. How is Joey doing??
Manydogs - Lynn - Thank you, she is such a good puppy and so full of life and personality, and as much as we LOVE her Dr E. - something just didn't seem completely right.

We have follow up for her Pneumonia on Friday 17th, although she will be on her antibiotics till the 24th.

What a great visit... So good to see the specialist spent all that time with you all and gave such great detail on the situation fir you to understand and get Ellie to a better place..... Red Bank is a great place-- which did you go to? We once went to the one in Tinton Falls to see a neurologist

2BullyMama - Christine, they are AMAZING!! I love the the bedside manner that Dr Durocher took with Ellie and me and hubby, and that she also took the time to write up a summary of our visit for me to take home, I think that should be a thing for all vets, we went to their location in Hillsborough, NJ location.
CCandMurray - Carolyn, she is getting better, though all of this she is still her spunky self, minus the 2AM doc visit when she had little fever.
