Elmo is doing better, the Apoquel is working wonders. I will send pictures of Elmo this weekend. How long does this take to clear up these hot spots? Elmo was scratching a lot and the scabs were coming off, this was before he started on Apoquel, he was bleeding a lot also, now since Apoquel I Pray he gets all well. Love To All. Hotspots can take weeks to clear up fully.... were you able to get the areas shaved?

One of my dogs has been on apoquel because of severe allergies. Miracle pill!! Bubba had a really bad hot spot a while back and Vetercyn cleared it right up. I also put desitin on it to keep out moisture.

Elmo's hot spots have scabs on them now, his face is brown on these spots, I put him in the tub last night and washed the areas on his neck real good with antibacterial shampoo, dried him real good then put the Medicine on him. I cannot wait for my Elmo Boy to clear up and be free from this horrible stuff.

Elmo you sweet baby.... Susan, they always look 1000 times worse till they are gone. Scabbing is good for healing

Here is what Lambeaus looked like and he was only about 5 months old this all took about 2 weeks from when i found it till there were no more scabs. Also, his skin will get VERY hard until it is fully healed and the fur is all back

My Otis Susan, I am so happy for you and Elmo, that he is finally starting to heal. As you have learned, those hotspots are horrible, when they get going. I doesn't look so nice, but it is a good sign of healing, that it is scabbing up. I have been praying for Elmo and will continue, until those nasty spots are gone! Hang in there,I know it is very worrisome-but you are doing a good job taking care of the poor fella'. Hugs for you both.:hug2:
