So took Brett to get his nail cut and when we came out yesterday he was walking fine now he woke up this am and seems limping, checked his nail and he seems he didn't want to put pressure on his maybe leg or paw. Groomer probably cut his nail too close to his quick. Is there anything I can use like a cream or something? Thank you

I know if it's bleeding you can use cornstarch to stop the bleeding, I'm not sure what to do if his nail hurts… I'm going to tag some members.

I think just rest will help him. If it's not bleeding I don't think there is anything you can do. Is his leg showing any signs of pain? I know Brutus hates to have his nails clipped and before I found the groomer I use now, I took him to petco and the last tme i took him, I saw three employees holding him down on the floor and Brutus was muzzled, I never went back. Maybe they pulled a muscle in his leg?

Here's a better photo. I'm not sure if she pulled on it too hard. But it looks kinda cracked but still attached. He just doesn't want to put pressure on it. :( it's a new groomer since we moved and I'm so mad. He was fine now this [emoji22]

Thank you. Thankfully it's not bleeding.

He's limping, like he doesn't want to put pressure on his nail.

No tylenol, but baby aspirin is okay. Otherwise a benedryl will help make him drowsy at least and relax a little. If it is just cracked he should be ok.

I'm really sorry for your baby. I would be quite pissed and would most likely cause a scene and make an *** of myself. I have no idea what would make it better except staying off of it. I would do Benadryl also, to rest is probably a good thing.

I can't see the crack but I would be mad too... im would be wondering if there was a struggle when she trimmed them and he may have hurt a muscle trying to keep from having them cut.. poor thing... its so hard to get good groomers and vets around my place..

Do not give tylenol or ibuprophen (advil). you can give plain aspirin for pain.
