@Cali Doll...

Fabulous list of Bella's attributes & special ways.

Like y'all, it's just me & Cami to go thru life. Don't
want to think how much harder & lonelier it would
be without her sweet love, I'm ill & home most of
the time, she's my biggest blessing!

Thank you for sharing this touching list.

You are such a blessing to so many others. I'm glad you have dear, sweet Cami to share your love. There's something special about bully girls and their moms. :D

Texas Carol, that's for the message Carol. I'm confident that there is a lot of love in your home with Cami. I'm also glad your sister also came through that awful experience. I've only heard how scary it can be.

I understand the love... my odie was sick.. really bad... we drove 2 hours to take him to a specialist and he was put in ICU.. after 3 days there he came home.. :).. but then my dad got ill... he was hopitalized and i spent every night at hospital with him.. my odie was there every morning i came home and cuddled with me.. but sadly my dad pasted away and odie again knew just how to make me better.. we were due to take him back to the specialize for a routine check up and he started throwing up.. i took him to my home town vet and we both concluded he has upset stomach from stealing the cats food.. so i stayed up another night all night with him.. we both woke up and was struggling to breath.. i woke my husband and said we got to go to emergency vet.. we got him in the car but didnt make it a mile down the road and he fell over.. my husband pulled over and tried cpr.. sadly we lost him too... i truely feel odie hung on as long as he did just for me.. he knew i needed him at that time... i buried two of the best that same week.. but my heart will always smile when i think of him.. i dont think i would have made it thru that week if it wasnt for my other bulldogs . i love all my bullies, odie seemed to favor me, as i would tell people, i didnt have a favorite,, he favored me.. i miss him dearly..
sorry for what you are going thru.. glad you have a special bully to help you too.. i know it helps..

It was a very hard couple weeks at that time.. i didn't mention i also lost my dear cat that was only 10 years old that next week, I really thought god was testing me, my bulldogs were truly the only thing that got me thru it all and when i am sad thinking of them they seem to know because they do something that will make me smile, the memories of all my pets will forever be a part of me.. 300021_2183905876212_2073154411_n (1).jpg

Thank you! Yes, I have only one little spitfire girl bully. Bulldogs have such human-like personalities, it's so easy to fall in love with them. They become little parts of you. I get it.

punky. I loved that poem. I also had to will myself not to cry. Do you know the Rainbow Bridge one too? It's super comforting. We had to put our family German Shepard Colby down at the start of summer. He finally couldn't walk on his own anymore. We promised him that when he told us he just couldn't do it, it would be time so he wouldn't suffer. He came into our lives when I started High School, even though I left my parents home while he was still with us, it was still just as painful. I gave the Rainbow Bridge Poem to my mom during that time.

I think anyone who loves their fur babies like family members understand the pain of loosing them. Bully parents even more. I loved growing up with our German Shepard's, but Bullies do have huge personalities! Anyone who has to care and think of their every need, so they have the best life experience possible knows the emotions that comes along with owning one! I think life is richer with them!

yes i know that poem too.. it is comforting also.. sorry to hear about your loss.. i know to much the pain and i know god has a reason for everything that happens.. its hard loosin them when we they are young.. i feel like maybe if i could have gotten him to vet sooner or did something else for him but again odie knew it was our last night together.. he slept beside me and cuddled me most of the night.. i would wake up everytime he moved.. its still hard.. we lost him on valentines day.. so i guess he picked that day to go because its a day to celebrate love.. i will think of my best friend every year on that special day.. cell phone april 2015 209.JPG

porkchop, abbey, gucci and rocky,
my story of how i acquired so many is sort of funny.. i actually went to pet store to buy cat treats when i spotted my first love.. i know i should buy from those places (don't judge me.) she was so stinking cute so i came out with her.. well, i went back a month later just to pick up her papers and came home with another one.. (im not allowed back in that place), but i couldn't help it..

well, after a year we lost our second one and our first one was just as sad as we were.. so we decided to get another one but this time we searched and searched and found a breeder that wasnt to far from here and we traveled a few hours to pick him out. (that would be our odie). odie got a cherry eye, which is nothing to serious as you know for that type of dog, but anyway, we took him to the vet and the vet was going to do surgery, we dropped him off in morning and when i picked him up that evening he was having trouble walking.. i asked them what was wrong with him and was told he was still just waking up from surgery, so i took him home and put him in his kennel and next morning he was dragging his legs.. i was mortified.. called vet and he said he could have some bruising and said i could stop and pick up some medicine.. i asked how do you get bruising from a cherry eye surgery,, anyhow, long story short after 3 visits later to a different vet we decided it was time to take him out of town to a specialist. they told us he would never walk again and surgery was out of the question,, i couldn't believe what i was hearing.. they tried to say it was congenital , which to this day i dont believe, but they sent me home with nothing but a dog that could barely walk.. i called our breeder and they guarantee their dogs, meaning if its inherited or congenital they stand behind it.. Ok, i did not want my money back, i wanted to keep my odie.. so what they do is give me another puppy... ha.. ok.. this is dog number three.. now wait, there's more.. lol

well, odie's replacement cost more then what we paid for him so we made the agreement that we would breed dog number 3 when she was old enough and give breeders pick of litter... well,,we did this and she only had two.. male and female, well they choose the male and i was going to sell the female to the right person.. needless to say gucci is now going on 4 years old.. i couldn't get rid of her.. shes so sweet.. ok, go ahead judge me.. lol.. so i have four and i wont have anymore... .. i will always have one no matter what.. i love that breed.. all because my cat needed treats.. which i forgot to get.. she wasn't happy at all that night..

by the way.. our breeder did take our odie for a few weeks but only to get him better... they got him walking and no vet could do it.. odie would have turned 6 this year , :(.

so there you have it.. i still have 4.. even though we lost my odie this past year, i was ok because i still had three but then i could not help getting the rescue we recently got.. im terrible, but i needed to save that poor dog,, i guess 4 is meant to be my number.. lol

the breeders are the best ever.. they don't just sell you a dog they care about them and they are also vet techs so the are the best for breeding for health, they have saved the lives of 3 of my dogs when the vets have given up on them, i will always get mine from them..

punky No judgement! I looked for two years for a Bulldog breeder. I don't mind traveling for a breeder, but two years ago I couldn't. I didn't even think I would have one even to this day. My husband would tease me. I would look at youtube videos, read the breed books, and over all obsess over everything about them. If I saw a bulldog walking with his owner on the street I would ask to pet them. I was a stalker! Hahaha! I know that I don't know much still, but my vet was really impressed with what I did know when I brought Bentley in for the first time with all of my questions. I only have Bentley because everyone knows, even my husband that I love bulldogs- so he was probably talking about it at work and a coworker of his asked him later on if we wanted to adopt one. That's how we got our Bentley. I would like to get him a little brother a little later on...yes my number could go up too!

I love you story though, a lot of love, knowledge, and life. I fully believe on just living to the fullest, whatever is thrown at you. Taking care of your babies regardless of where you got them was/is love. You never know where they could have gone to if it wasn't for you.

punky, I don't know if you could have gotten him to the vet any sooner. It sounds like you were doing all that you could and Odie obviously knew that and loved you for it. The fact that you two cuddled together makes me think that everything was meant to be for whatever reason. If you didn't love him and want the best for him I don't think you would have done any of that!
