So it has been a few months now that the boys have been on The Honest Kitchen. Brutus is thriving on the Halcyon, Duck formula. His coat is beautiful, he has not had any interdigital cysts, and he is thinning out a bit. I put Frankie back on his Merrick Grain free Buffalo and Sweet Potato because I did not see any difference in him health wise at all. Now Frankie is 100% healthy, no allergies and really no issues to speak of, so I wasn't really expecting much, I did it really for the ease of having both boys on the same type of food. I did notice however, that Frankie was acting like he was never satisfied or full while on THK. He seems much happier on his kibble. So I have success where it was really needed with Brutus and that is all that really matters. Getting him off that terrible Prescription food was really my goal.

Awesome news Rosalie! So happy that you found what works best for each of the boys! We are about close to a month on raw with Ty. (Stella & Chewys) - its been interesting to say the least. He definitely had to adjust to it, went through some vomiting, diarrhea, grass eating. I ended up adding in a good probiotic about a week 1/2 ago and that has tremendously helped. The craziest thing is actually seeing his body detox. I read about it extensively, and knew it would happen, but wow. Its one of those it gets worse before it gets better - his ears were pushing out wax - it was gross. I had to clean them multiple times a day. He started shedding again, and his face & paws flared up a bit... but I read this is all the detox, and its his body getting rid of the bad. His poop was gross (it had like mucus coats) again signs of the detox. I know we aren't grossed out here so, yeah. LOL Anyway... we still have some licking, and redness with the paws (in between) but hoping we clear that soon! I'm thinking it will take a few months like Brutus!! :D

My girl eats the prescription formula as well. She doesnt have any issues for the most part on this food and she loves it both canned or kibble. Its all the other foods i would love for her to be able to eat lol, but i go with what works for her.

I know how you feel. Brutus was on it for a couple of years and it was good for his allergies and tummy issues. The main reason I switched to the raw was because he just stopped eating it. I am glad your baby is doing well on it.
