Or would it be better to say "Happy Anniversary"?

Did you know that 5 years ago today EBN became an official forum? Yes...January 29th 2010 English Bulldog News was born.

Lisa had plans on writing her yearly birthday/anniversary sentiments as she does every year. This year will be a little different. Lisa had a little bit of a "Walker" :getupzombie::girlwalker: incident and is currently on the mend. (I can now edit my post and let you know, since she did post on FB, Lisa is having surgery today after a horrific tangle with an ice tea glass. She cut her wrist/arm pretty bad, severed part of a tendon and an artery. Surgery today is to repair the damage and hopefully help her gain the feeling back in her pinky and part of her hand. The photos look like they were taken right off the set of The Walking Dead) She is down to one finger typing and (just trust me on this) it's a jumbled mess. So I thought.... Why not have the members of EBN tell Lisa why we are thankful for this very day, 5 years ago?

Here is what Lisa wrote last year on the 4th anniversary.
"Almost 4 years ago, after 3 days of trying to figure out how to get our forum idea online (I swear my eyes were almost bleeding trying to figure it out!), EBN was officially "online" on January 29th, 2010. We wanted to open a forum about our biggest love in the world, English Bulldogs. It was a blue blank canvas of a forum, the only official members were ourselves and a few friends who signed up just to be nice.

Thinking back to that day 4 years ago, I would have never dreamed English Bulldog News would be where it is today. Such awesome people who all have one thing in common-- the love of our breed-- and together, making such a huge difference in each others' lives. It is so amazing!

Back then, I thought I was so educated on the English Bulldog breed, but boy oh boy was I wrong! 4 years of reading and learning from the other English Bulldog owners everyday has helped my bulldogs in so many ways. I am grateful to the members who take their valuable time out each day to lend a helping hand, share a laugh and give support. Each day I swear I read something new, and never end a day without feeling something.... love, admiration, loss, heartbreak, achievement.... but most of all, proud of the members here.... there are so many different feelings and emotions, and I can only think of how empty life would be without EBN.

On that January day in 2010, if you would have told me that within 4 years we would have over 10,000 members, we would be doing Auctions for Rescue, fundraisers to help bulldogs in need, monthly Hospice Sponsorships, fun contests and events, and most of all bringing together thousands of owners with advice, as well as sharing virtual friendships unlike any other....
...well I would have thought you were.... completely crazy!

EBN would not be what it is without it's wonderful members who selflessly give their words to the site each day. Every member here should be so proud of what you do here, whether you have posted once or 1,000 times.... your post could help someone else someday!"

Now at 5 years, we are still going strong. It's amazing how each year we still are learning new things about this wonderful breed. With each new member...we gain new experiences.

I would really love if you would share some of your fondest memories of EBN with Lisa.
This past year we've been through so much together. We've bonded together to help one another in our deepest time of need. We've had happy times and sad time. We've brought new members into our families and we've had to say goodbye to some of our most loved furkids.

Thank you so much for being a part of EBN.

Happy Birthday/Anniversary EBN!! I have been with the forum since 2011 and could not imagine my day without it!

I found the site because I was (am) obsessed with these lovable, quirky, sweet, snorty, grunting, amazing babies and was just wanting to always look at photos of them. I trolled for a few months and finally became a member in September - what specifically caused me to join I can not remember, but I think it had to do with Nitschke and stem cell treatment question. When we suddenly lost Nitschke just a month later, the outpouring of support from the EBN family and true caring was overwhelming and what I needed more than anything.

Fast forward three years later and we suddenly lose our baby girl, Banks... again the support, love, and caring members were just what I needed to help me through a very difficult journey.

Over all the years, I had a blast with helping people, bullies, rescue and meeting a lot of wonderful people all over the world.

Thank you Lisa.... your vision has become a wonderful wonderful world! BEST of luck today .. sending lots of love and prayers to you!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY EBN!!! :confetti:

I found EBN a week after we lost our precious Bella in 2013, I was looking for answers… I had never EVER been on a forum before, so I had NO idea what I was in for. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by all the information that I discovered on here, and of course all the things that I was doing wrong w/our bulldogs :( I also realized that sometimes vets are WRONG, they don't know all the answers… I was so trusting of all these so called "bully specialists" and now I know better.

But the BEST part of EBN is the people, and I mean FAMILY by all sense of the word. I had already lost 2 bulldogs by the time I joined EBN… Bella and Wellie. SO many members reached out to me to offer support for babies that they didn't even know. Of course we never know what's around the bend. My beautiful baby boy Winston was SO loved on EBN, and when I lost him I honestly did NOT know how I would EVER get thru that grief. The outpouring of support on here was amazing… and STILL is to this day. You NEVER know how much people mean to you until you have felt immeasurable loss and grief…

Lisa I can't THANK YOU enough for creating this wonderful second home called EBN!!! I hope that EBN continues to educate and support all of us that LOVES the adorable English BULLDOG!!! :bulldog:

I joined EBN in the summer of 2012 after we got our first bulldog puppy Brutus. I felt such an overwhelming love for Brutus that I really thought was abnormal and I was searching the internet one day for the best food and care for Brutus and I was redirected to EBN. I trolled around most of the day and that night I joined. I remember I got a welcome message from if I am remembering correctly, @calibaker (Henny) and I was assured that my insane love for Brutus was normal and shared by all the members of EBN and I knew I was home. I really feel like EBN is my second family and I rarely miss a day. I have been on vacations and my husband finds me bidding on auction items, my kids laugh and ask me what my "EBN friends" think of my craziness. No matter what is going on, good or bad, I know I can count on the members here to offer a kind word, a prayer, or just quiet support. Thank you Lisa for creating such a great forum. I am thinking of you and your family today.

:congrats2::birthday6:EBN!!! I have loved this place from the day I joined! Joining here(and I am not a "joiner" type person) is one of the best things that I have ever done! It has renewed my faith that there still are good people in the world, and people who do care for their animals! I am so lucky that you all accepted me and made me feel at home! This has become my second home, and it has actually saved my life, not only many Bullie lives!
Thank you for creating this site and the endless information that can be gained from it. Thank you Lisa for the wonderful idea you had, and carried through with-it is the ACADEMY AWARD site of EBD information. I only wish I had the support of you all-before I discovered this site,it would surely have made a huge difference to me-and I am so grateful to be here now. The support on this site-when someone has a loss, a love, an illness, something sad, something funny, personal problem, or just a cute photo, is absolutely a great big loving family support. THANK YOU EBN!!! :heartsign:

One of the first bulldogs I remember seeing on EBN is Wilson. I remember reading JeannieCO stories and really laughing out loud. Wilson to me was the epitome of everything I've read, seen, and heard about bulldogs. I wanted a Wilson..lol.
I soon got to the know the other EBN bullies and quickly realized this was definitely the breed for us.

While we knew about Blue before he was even born. I don't believe I joined until he was about two weeks old.
It was then that I started a crap load of threads with a ton of questions (all of which were repetitive..lol) but everyone here was still very helpful.
In fact, looking back, I don't know how we would have done it without all the valuable info. here.

Even now, over two years later, this is still the first place I come to when I have a question or need information.
Cheers EBN, the best English Bulldog forum on the internet. I hope you stay around for years to come :drink::cheers2:

Happy Birthday EBN! I stumbled across EBN back in late April or Early May of 2013 as i had just found out that i wpuld be getting a bully for fathers day. I lurked around for several weeks and was amazed at the information and the friendliness of everyone on the site so i had to join.

I was scared at first being such a noob and made my first post about bringing Harlea home soon and posted one of the lone pictures i had of here. Everyone shared in my excitment as i was counting down the weeks, days and hours until i could bring my baby home.

I am happy to be here as many of you i consider part of my extended family and all understand the joys and pains of this wonderful breed we love.

At times I wonder how I existed prior to finding you! This site is amazing, I have gotten more support here than I have from my own family or friends. The out pour of love & guidance is amazing. Thank you Lisa for starting this amazing forum where all the bully obsessed people can gather, lol. I don't think anyone else gets us, but knowing there is support here is the best feeling ever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Love always, Jessica & Tyson

Happy birthday EBN, and my very best wishes to you, Lisa!

I read a lot on EBN around the time when we first got Castor, and then we joined after a couple of months. As English bulldogs is such a rare breed around here, this forum is where we find the expertise when we have questions; and when Castor had to have his nares and soft palate done a few months ago, we truly felt how wonderfully supportive this community is. It truly means a lot to us!
