Hey EBNers! On these cold Winter days, I feel pretty sad for Leo sometimes since he's unable to get outside and play at the park or meet up with other dogs and socialize. He is very active and our quick strolls and game of fetch doesn't appear to satiate his energy. Also, I've been thinking of getting another dog. I was wondering, other than another bully, what other breed would make a great companion for our Bulldogs?

I've always had boxers and bulldogs together--mine have done great! And I LOVE boxers!

100% AGREE!!! My Roxie girl has been w/me when I had my two previous bullies, and now she is warming up to Walter… Lol Boxer's and Bullies are a great combo!!!

any dog with great temperament, regardless of the breed should work.

^^^ agreed! research a breed that will fit your life style along with matching or accenting Leo's personality

I would probably try to match the activity level. Bulldogs get "lazier" the older they got, not all but enough. I wouldn't want a very active dog with my couch potato.

I would say a Pug, we've got one and she's so easy going and she's basically attached to the hip on our Bulldog senior Joey, they LOVE each other. I would say a Pug is great cos they have kind of the same level of energy. They can be energetic and go crazy but they also love to just snooze and relax. Also they're not aggressive or difficult to manage so they fit in easily:)

I totally agree with harveyspecter it should work regardless of the breed so long as the first one has a great temperament it should not be to hard to sort

I personally found that having a dog with a good temperament made it easier to teach the other ones how to behave
