Hello.
I am a new English Bulldog owner and am a newbie at this. I really need some advice and help short of another trip into the vet.
I have a 10 month old English Bulldog. She weighs 34 lbs. She started her first heat on October 13. We had about 1 week of "show" a slightly coloured discharge.
On Mon Oct 20 she started to bleed--small droplets of blood. Not a big issue.
Last night and today, she is bleeding extremely heavy. It is flowing at a pretty good rate. Not just droplets. We are using a pull up with a maxi pad tucked inside for extra absorption. We dont leave her in the pull up all day as she is stubborn and will not move, eat, go outside etc when it's on so we use old towels and put them under her to give her some freedom. We follow and clean up any that does drip out.
We find she has a heavier flow at night.
I am reading so many things about how long this heavy bleeding will last. 1 week. 3 weeks. What is true? Does it vary? She is only 34 lbs.
Is there anything more I can do for her? She doesn't do much. I just feel terrible. I hate seeing her like this.
Our plan is to spay her approximately 12 weeks after her heat ends.
Any help or advice anyone can offer would be truly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance for your kind words of wisdom.
