I totally LOVE her..... FRECKLES!!!

My boy did his ACL twice on the same leg and my vet told us he most likely would tear the other at some point due to compensation and limping.... unfortunately, he past before it happen so I do not know if it would be totally true --- I hope she won't need it and be a healthy happy girl running crazy with her little brother

We are now at 9 week post surgical TPLO with Jewel. She still has some limping especially when getting up from a nap. Jewel is still restricted to walking on a leash even to go potty. Absolutely no jumping, running, stair climbing. We are now walking around the block per vets instructions.

The first week after surgery was most disturbing to see the pain and anguish on my little girl; specifically, the first 96 hours. We made an improvised litter to carry her out to go to the bathroom and provided support for her to squat. We go back to the ortho vet at the end of the month for a follow-up.

I pray other one doesn't go! She did wonderful after surgery, she was in alot of pain, and they told us she couldn't walk on hardwood, tile floors so she don't slide, couldn't sleep in the bed for 6 weeks, well me and my husband took turns sleeping in the hall with her..by 2nd week she was trying to jump on furniture,so I built what I called(red neck doggy play pen)used every rug, bath mat,so she wasn't confined to the hallway,by week 3-4 she was barely limping,so she recovered quickly, but everytime she jumps off the couch I cringe! I hope your baby has a full recovery! I don't know how they did jewels surgery, but they put metal plate and screws in her knee, and put 2 screws in her ankle to support it,she had staples from her knee to her ankle:( I babied her and did EVERYTHING the Dr told me to do,even did her physical therapy long after she was ok!

Yes the same surgery and same description. We also had her corkscrew tail removed...no more tail pocket and her soft palate was fixed.

@rijasterp julescoffman I can't imagine how hard it is to watch your babies go through that...the surgery..the recovery..but I admire you guys for making sacrifices and doing all you can to make life as comfortable as possible for them while they recuperate! Hopefully the other knee holds up and the vet is wrong...

Thank you chumley,it's a tough surgery, but they are our furry children:) crazy thing about Jasmines' surgery,is day before hers my daughter had sinus surgery,my mama flew here from Ohio for 2 weeks to help me..that was a blessing! We took turns taking care of furry daughter Jazzy and human daughter Kylie..had one with a cone on her head, and the other with her nose packed full of gauze, not fun! Lol but we all survived:)

2BullyMama so sorry bout your guy, that's so sad! I really think the only reason she hasn't messed the other one up is I baby her so much,I carry her heavy butt down 2 flights of deck stairs every time she goes out,and we put her in the bed so she doesn't have to jump..well,now she's so rotten that she stares and whines till I pick her up!! I may need back surgery soon lol
