Hi Owens, I am new and this is my 2nd time experiencing cystine crystals in my bully and was wondering if you had any advise on food. I am currently feeding my fromm lamb and lentil and the vet said I should switch but I am not crazy about the prescription diets. I would like to try and cook for him bc this scares me and want him to get better! Right now he is on clavomax and need a diet change! Thanks so much in advance

Cystine stones are most common in mastiff's. Just google canine cystinuria mastiff. Dogaware is also a good place to find advice on home cooking for dogs. My boy has Hyperuricosuria and that again is different. All stones are different and need to be taken in to account in some what different ways.

My Schnauzer had struvite stones, he was put on the Royal Canine SO Prescription Diet, he did great on it, and did not have any problems, he passed away last year at 15 years young.
