Aww, these puppies are all adorable<3 I know nothing about showing or even how a bulldog "should" look like:) but I think to get a show quality bulldog you need to contact a breeder that focuses on that, hopefully they also pay attention to health and not only appearance. It is extremely unlikely that a puppy that doesn't have parents and grandparents of show quality ends up being one. I think it might help the ones on here that knows about showing if there were pictures of the parents?

Here is the illustrated guide for the breed standard that you can use for selecting a show pup. You can print it and bring it with you to the breeders. Since it has clear pictures of correct conformation as well as pictures of faults, it will be easy to compare:

Exactly, this is what I was thinking also; even though, we are across the pond. I would defer to @jimmyjj since he is on the same side of the pond as you.

image.jpgThose pups have long backs- the top lines aren't the best. image.jpgimage.jpgSee the pups in these pics the way the top line drops at the shoulder and arches over the loins then drops again at the tail- the pups in the pic you posted don't demonstrate that.

I have been offered this female from a very reputable breeder here in the UK. She is 23 months old and is slightly more expensive that I wanted to pay for her but she seems like real quality and exactly what I am looking for. What's your thoughts o her? @RiiSi @Davidh

You will need to look at the pup's pedigree and his parents' show results, but that will still not be a guarantee that the pup himself is show quality. I noticed that some of the pics were titled something like 'show quality' pups, but a breeder cannot promise that his pups are show quality. Unless the pups come from a very successful line of bulldogs, I would be wary of buying from a breeder who describes pups like that. As others have already said, puppies change a lot the first year, so you cannot really tell from a picture that the dog will look like in a few years.

Most days with the dog will not be show time, so to me aspects like temper and the medical history of the parents would be of more concern. Having said that, I fully understand your wish to acquire a dog with show potential. I norished some hope to show our dog, and we took him to a puppy show where he did pretty well, but then one of his testicles didn't descend properly, so showing him is no option (as he would be disqualified). In a way this is a pity, but we bought him as a family pet, and we choose him for his temper and healthy parents, seeing his good looks as an added bonus.

For future attractiveness I would go with the 2nd to last one. The set of three pictures that say "Camera Roll" on the top.

Can't see his tail though. So im not sure if he'd pass the show test.
