Our 5 mo old has been diagnosed with luxating patella in his hind leg. We have him on an anti-inflammatory for the next 10 days. We are limiting the use of stairs and trying to keep his running/jumping to a minimum. Have any you had your baby diagnosed with this problem? Did you use any supplements?? Was surgery required?? What was your outcome?? Thanks!!

Yes.... my boy had this, it actually is very common in the breed. Unfortunately for us, we did not realize it till AFTER he tore his ACL so we were behind the eight-ball and had to get the surgery for him. After the ACL was corrected and then again replaced (yes, two surgeries) He still had the knee-cap popping but not as much as before.

Do as you are, with the limited activity and supplements, it does help.
