Again my first Bulldog and still learning. I take Rambo down to pet smart to get his baths, because he is like trying to hold on to a greased pig. So anyhow the lady said that grinding the nails are better for the bulldogs then clipping them. And oh ya it cost 6 bucks more. Now I do not mind paying the extra if it is whats better for him.

I prefer the nail grind. They can get the nails much shorter and there aren't any sharp edges.

We get Harlea's ground once a month. We started with clipping but we feel the grinding is much better and like others have said you don't have the sharp edges.

I take June to have hers clipped at Petco. I take her on walks around the neighborhood a few times a week so the sidewalk makes them nice and smooth and round.

Grinding is better, but some bullies don't like it. We grind some of ours and clip the the ones that don't tolerate it.

Grind! I take Vegas about every 5 weeks to Petsmart for $11.00 they dremel his nails, nice short and rounded. I've been taking him for over 4 years. So much better for our furniture!! He really dosent mind it, I am afraid to do it myself because all his nails are black and Im afraid I would get to short and hurt him.

Clip than grind to smooth out the edges, straight grinding can make the nail get too hot, so use caution and take breaks if grinding only. :)

I do the clip & grind for our doggies… we have wood floors (which they have destroyed BTW… LOL) the grinding seems to help keep the floors from getting completely trashed!!!

(Kidding... we use a dremel with a 'pet' attachment. but i have thought about using the bench grinder to speed things up :) )
