Is there a thread about what to do when or if your dogs attacked ?
Is there anything I need to keep my eye on ?

So sorry you had to go through that, poor Diesel :( This is the best advise I have on how to break up a fight, I've done it and I know it works ... When dogs are fighting it's best to grab by scruff of the neck and lift them up so that the front paws are off of the ground, don't kick, punch or shake, that just makes them more focused on what they are attacking because they think it is hurting them, making them bite harder. once the front paws are off the ground they can't get leverage any longer and will release but don't try to pull the biting dog off or it can cause more damage to the dog being bit.

i am just back in work after taking diesel to the vets, he has 3 0r 4 puncher wounds around his body and a few other bite marks about his head, the vet said he was lucky. everything was cleaned up and he gave us a cleaning solution, he got an injection and some tabs...
i was feeling ok until i was waiting to pay when a woman came in with a dog and diesel whet for the dog
... i cannot believe this as he is the sweetest dog i have ever had, he wouldnt harm a fly
i said sorry to the woman and explained what happened to him:gloom:

Glad Diesel is alright, you will have to start all over again on how to "meet" other dogs but he will come around and be the same sweet baby you are use to. Give him lots of love and positive support when he is around other dogs, remember to try not to tense up as he will feed off of your emotions.

Happy to hear your boy is OK, physically. Give it some time, and remember if you are nervous, upset or tense he will feel a need to protect.
One day at a time... get back in your alpha mode and he will fall in line with you.

I know diesel isn't a vicious dog but given he had a go at the other dog at the vets ,perhaps consider some dog training classes not for the training but to try and get him used to the other dogs so that he doesn't fear them and feel that he has to attack before they do,bless him hope all turns out well for you both

Sadly any dog can turn , but with a proper socialisation and training you will be able to redirect his behaviour

Oh poor baby. It is a traumatizing experience (for both of you). Give it time :) Here's wishing Diesel a speedy recovery.

Glad he is going to be ok. He is probably still on hyper alert after being attacked and isn't about to let it happen again. I would give him a pass this time after what he went through. Most likely he will calm down to his regular self given time and lack of what he considers may be a threat
