Hi Katy. I agree with Lynn, no food or water after 8:00 or 9:00 tonight and nothing in the morning before surgery. There is a risk of vomiting and aspiration in the lungs while under anesthetic. Our vet told us not to feed our guys after 8:00 pm the night before the surgery, and even after the surgery we were told to only feed a light meal, about half of their usual amount, as they can be nauseous after surgery from the anesthetic and the post op pain medications.
No food! When Stella was spayed, her vet stopped her food at noon the day prior, and no water after 6pm. Bullies have a much higher risk of aspiration.
