So... My wife took Harlea outside for her potty time before bed like usual and I was lagging behind a bit and came out a few minuts later. As soon as I get outside my wife starts yelling for Harlea to move away from where she was at on the patio. No biggie I just thought she was going after a leaf or something that she usually goes after. That was until I turned and looked at my wife and saw the horror in her eyes. I quickly turned to where Harlea was at to see her trying to pick up a baby snake that was on the patio. Lucky for us it was just a little king snake and she didn't actually pick it up but the look on my wifes face was priceless and I didn't have my camera with me to get a picture.

Oh my gosh!

2 months ago, Aaron (son) opened the front door and I heard him freaking out
and ran to see him trying to close the door, a big rat snake was curled right on
the mat and lunged at him! About 2 weeks later I was at the garbage can and
saw a smaller one about a foot from me, curled up.

Thank goodness for y'all & us, these were non poisonous.

I would have passed out!! I am terrified of snakes. Your poor wife 😞. So happy to hear that at least it wasn't a dangerous snake (other than causing cardiac arrest).

 Oh my god I would have been screaming like a manic and would have grabbed the nearest thing and whacked the snake screaming the whole time. LOL I am sure the neighbors would have called the police saying someone was being murdered

OMG my fear as we have brown snakes here and am so scared of seeing one in my yard as there has been one in the yard next door, your poor wife I can only imagine the fear she must have felt. SO glad it was not a poisonous snake but still horrible.

Yeah it was bad for her funny for me as I actually like snakes. Everyone is good and the snake is gone. Several years about we woke up in the middle of the night as one of our cats was going bonkers. When we turned the light on we found out he was playing with a little garden snake in our bedroom. Hilarity did not ensue with that one.

Oh lordy - I had this same reaction when Remi was going over bumble bees on the ground. Yours is a tad more dangerous, :ashamed: but I was thinking, with my luck, Remi would have an allergic reaction and keel over!

:faint: Egads....I hate snakes. Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate...Hate

yup....Hate

AGREED. I would still be screaming...Dudley weighs 80lbs, but I think I would have hefted him up and arthritic ankle or not...I'd have been booking for the house! DESPISE snakes! So glad everyone was okay...And quite honestly, it's a good thing you didn't have the camera, because I'm pretty sure your wife might have killed you if you were taking pictures during this terrifying event!
