Mac will be 2 in Sept. and he does not lift his leg. I believe he may have tried it once or, at least that's what I think he was trying to do! That does not stop him from waiting for Cleo to potty and then going and squatting over her spot but he doesn't do it to other dogs, only her. He likes to sniff the tree in our yard to 'see' the other dogs but then goes potty somewhere else. That could also be because of his super submissive behavior, too?

Tubby started lifting his leg around 6 months. He will only lift it if he is peeing on something like a tree or a pole. If he finds a patch of grass he likes he squats. Tubby over extends his leg when he lifts and usually falls over LOL he has figured out however that if he lifts his leg to rest it on something and then he won't topple over

Loki does both! At home he squats on walks or if we are near anything that is tall he will lift he just started doing it recently. They can get thier chunky little legs pretty high

age and sex have nothing to do with it.... it is just what they want to do and where they might be. Nitschke was 7.5 and in all his years, he very rarely lifted his leg, he always squated. My Frenchie is 2 yrs old and still I have never seen him lift a leg.

Proud to say Winston is now a leg lifter. Don't think our wiener dog is happy about it.

@tekstrand24 Wow! That is some pretty impressive height for a bully, I'm impressed!! The weenie dog is probably just studying really closely and taking notes on how to get his little legs that high. LOL
