I'm telling you right here and now... If I see a dog in a parked car I will break the windows to let that baby out and I don't even care if he bites me

I agree with you. The sad thing is people are still going to do it and think they have done nothing wrong. It is even worse when you see a child left in a car out in the heat.

I don't understand how some people think it's okay to leave a dog/child in a hot car 'just for a minute'. Tsk tsk, when will people learn?

I know where I live it is illegal to leave your dog in the car. People don't hesitate to call the police. It only takes a few minutes in the desert (I'm sure that's the case for most places in the summer) for that to be fatal. I always know when I come out of a shopping center and I see the cops by someone's car while they plead there case (it was just for a minute/ I left a window cracked) that they either left their kids or their pet in the car.

Why don't people think. Case today in Philly of a man arrested for leaving his 18-month-old son in a car while he went into the Parx Casino and gambled. He was in there for 40 minutes -- it was 88 degrees outside. Because there has been so much of that there, they have stepped up security runs through the parking lot. They've found dogs in the cars there too...just unbelievable to me!:bitching:

Me three. It is so sad when you hear about these stories, just in the last two weeks alone two toddlers have been in the news, they both died from being left in a hot parked car. One was a two year old boy, who was left in the car by his grandmother. She has been charged with criminal negligence causing death. How do you love with yourself after doing something like that? How do you ever face your son or daughter and after you've killed their child?

I always thought of cars like mini-ovens...if you leave something in there long enough it will cook.

Reminds me of a sad story from a couple of weeks ago. I was on patrol in manhattan and responded to a 911 call of some one who thought they heard barking coming from the steel lockbox on the back of a parked pickup truck. My partner and I respond and sure enough there is a big metal box on the back of a red pick up truck with what sounds like barking and scratching coming from inside. We radio the fire department while we ran the guy's plate and just as the fire department shows up the owner of the truck comes up to us stating it's his truck and dog, ect. We allow him to unlock the box and secure his dog (a beautiful white pitbull named Buddy) then placed him under arrest for animal abuse/neglect. Animal police seized the dog and although Buddy was dehydrated and on the verge of heat stroke, they said he should be ok and make a full recovery.

I don't know what happened to either of them, but that guy has no soul that's for sure.

Would be nice if he was locked in a dark hot room/box for a few hours
