I can walk Gio and my Frenchie for 2 miles if the weather is 60 or lower. In the summer we walk about a mile in the evening, and even then if its too hot we will probably not go for a walk at all or a much shorter one. But my older bully doesn't want to walk past the driveway, so I just recently bought a stroller for her, that way I can push her up the street and she can walk home. I also now can include her on the longer walks with Gio and my Frenchie.

We walk for about 15 minutes, but it usually includes off-leash play time with neighbor's dogs. We're lucky enough to live in a gated apartment complex, so it's nice to let them have playtime!

I think they can do longer, depending on weather, temperature, etc. Just watch for panting Once consistent panting starts, it's usually time to go home.

Ruggles and I walk a 2 mile circle through town everyday in the winter. Spring, summer and fall we either walk on a paved USFS road that follows a creek, go to Wallowa Lake, or another rural trail with a stream. We always go before the sun comes up over the mountains when it is warm, usually it is in the 50s. Ruggles is fairly athletic and an excellent breather!

Remember too that THE WALK is about far more than just exercise. It's your opportunity to exhibit the leadership your dog is looking for from his/her pack leader!

I wouldn't worry too much as long as you can see his waistline when you look down on him. He's only 7 months old and they go through all kinds of growth spurts!

Chunky and I walk at least a mile a day, but we've walked 6 miles, with a few short breaks and water. but since we DO walk so much he's used to it, as long as I keep walking my little guy will too! However that is unusual! If long strolls are what you crave I would slowly build him up to it, start slow and his stamina and endurance will build! andDONT FORGET WATER for both of you!

She has brachycephalic syndrome. We're hopeful that she will be able to breathe better and have a little more endurance too. Keep your fingers crossed! She goes in Tuesday.
