Could somebody please let me know some home cooked meals you do for your bully. I would like to try some out for my girl with food allergies making her eyes red all the time and her face pink. No itching just the red eyes and pink face

Do you know what foods your girl is allergic to? I have made lean hamburger, brown rice with veggies like peas, carrots, celery, broccoli. Ruggles can have turkey but not rice, corn or potato so he gets whole wheat pasta.

I've done ground beef with rice, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green beans, and garlic powder (desertskybulldogs' recipe). I also added in a multivitamin and salmon oil.

she has done well on hamburger and rice before but always have had her on dry dog food and initially she came to me from breeder on diamonds sweet potato
I switched her to nutro grain free lamb and rice and flare up really started (after a few days) itching, red face red eyes
switched her to natures recipe w/pumpkin, salmon, sweet potato per the breeders request except they didn't have the diamond kind here where I live and the flare up continued so I switched per the vet request to LID salmon and sweet potato and the flare up continued except the ear itching stopped so trial and error switched her to taste of the wild pacifica definitely flare ups but no itching the ears then vet said to switch again and I did and she went to LID duck and potato and I seen a small difference but her eyes are still very red so last attempt I bought NVI TURKEY and omg did she turn red red in the face and her eyes are super red so I am losing it over here although she is not itching but omg she looks like a glowing red ball

I suffer from autoimmune, diabetes (found to be autoimmune) and Fibro.

Found out the hard way that conventional medicines, treatments, doctors
& specialists were a sad joke, a sham, didn't work and made you sick(er)
with their side effects.

For years now I've researched & studied on my own and our food system,
regular water supply...our animal's food...all are filled with poisons, toxins,
chemicals, pesticides, etc.

English Bulldogs are particularly sensitive to this bad stuff and the outside
environment.

Foodwise, I suggest feeding as high quality as you can afford, limited ingredients,
organic, preservative free, grain free, poultry free. If you make your food make sure
you supplement w/Vit/Min for dogs and give a good ProBiotic for healthy digestion
and gut health. Give spring water (no floride or chlorine...i.e. NO tapwater) to drink.

I've had good results w/Avoderm's red Meat Meal, grainfree. Watch to see if she gets
yeasty from the sweet potato in it, if so then try their trout & pea formula also grain free.
Can be found at PetsMart...if this food works,no added supplement needed. I, myself am
starting to cook hamburger, rice & black bean (about 1/4 cup each) and mix w/the kibble,
about 2 cups of it) and feed 2 x daily. I think your dog is younger so feed less each time.
Are you feeding 2 or 3 x daily? Good luck!

I am going to check into this food and if all else fails try try again. I am just amazed at how all this food affects our dogs. I guess I should be grateful that she is not itching herself to death and I am only dealing with the red face and red eyes. She has not yet had any problem with yeast so I am thankful. I forgot to mention that yes she does have more drainage from her eyes so for today I am putting her back on her LID NATURES BALANCE duck and potato to try and limit what her intake is. I have documented everything to keep track of what she has had thus far and I have taken pictures of her eyes and face in the mornings prior to eating and then after eating and noted the time that the change begins with the redness happening. Also zyrtec has not helped whatsoever (my vet suggested I give her that) so with the recipe you have provided me above I will definitely give it a try if all else fails. I am going to read upon the Avoderm's red meat meal. Thank you so much I appreciate it more than you know.

Hon...I know just how much she means to you and she is a lucky bully to have such a caring Momma!

Brutus was having thinning hair, sores underneath, horrible eye goobers ALL the time and very stinky
farts, all cleared up w/Avoderm. On the Red Meat Meal, he is much less itchy than the other formulas.
It took about 2-3 months before he really responded but his coat is really thick and shiny and no sores.
The white is really white, he's red and white...mySon is finally going to take some pics and post of us!

Oh...do not use any grain shampoos such as Oatmeal, some bullies will react to that...NO Soy or Soy
isolates (I found this terrible crap in a 'for bulldogs' kibble formula!). Good luck, Mable is adorable
:smoochwink:

As far as using Benadryl or Zertec, it just depends on what works best for Mabel.

So funny that once I went back this morning to LID duck and potato her face is just lightly pink and eyes are lightly pink but instead of zyrtec I gave her a benedryl so that as well may have something to so with it also. Normally I would hold off on giving her anything but because of the symptoms she always has I just went ahead and gave it to her now I regret it because it kind of messed up my documentation in regards to being able to see if at all their would be any symptoms. So her next meal I am going to wait and see how it all works out and take pics of her before and after. Yes I do love love love love my girl. My rescue bully girl doesn't have a problem whatsoever and her eye boogers all cleared up and any other issue she had since getting her diet regulated correctly.

Good for rescue bully, so glad she's doing well! My Brutus is a re-homed adult and here just 5 months.

Yesterday morning my cat, CoCo,
was doing 'that hungry CAT thang' where they do whatever to wake
you up, lol...I heard Brutus growl, THAT woke me right up as he's never growled, ever and he was fixated
on her. After a minute or two, he LUNGED for her...I put myself between them and yelled "NO!"
then made
sure he understood...Oh hell NO...not ever! Poor CoCo, she flew out of the bed!! They've loved on each
other
and sleep together??? It scared me because he was SERIOUS but as I thought about it more, I think
Brutus was protecting me, he thought she was hurting me (she was jumping up & down on me and around
my head)
and after he growled and she didn't stop, he went after her. I went and got her and rubbed her on
him and talked to him the whole time and the rest of the day he loved on her as usual and she, him.

It touched my heart that he was protecting me and honestly...I never would've believed fat boy could move
so fast if I hadn't seen it, LOL

My Thelma is so sweet and loves belly rubs so much but she is trying to let my Mabel know that she is gonna run the roost around here when it comes to beds or toys and so yes although she may purrrrr so cute she also has a mean growl and she is serious about it and she has lunged at Mabel when Mabel is trying to get her toy back. So that is not acceptable to me and I let Thelma know today with a flay swatter in my hand that I will use it on her butt should she want to do that again to Mabel. I do not tolerate any and when I say any I do not tolerate NONE when it comes to an animal showing aggression to another. I am the ALPHA here in my home and it is my way and thats final. Thelma is a good girl who is 6yrs old but she was neglected and is learning that it is ok to trust someone (me) as I will not hurt her however I have seen what happens when two dogs are allowed to show dominance over another and I didn't like it and at this home the females could never be left alone and had to have two gates on one doorway to make sure they could not get at one another. Never would I have allowed it to get to a point such as. And yes these were EBD, believe that one
