Here's some great news - banning puppy mill dogs in pet stores!

I read the bill. It defines a "large-volume breeder" as a breeder with ONE or more females used for breeding. One dog does not make a "large volume breeder." Don't get me started on HSUS. Local humane societies are awesome, but the national organization is not.

One or more AND selling 50 or more puppies off of the breeding females

But yes the bill could be improved and more clarity to the meaning

If a commercial breeder is selling more than 50 puppies in a year and that's what the bill states, then yes I think they need regulation on how these dogs are being treated

wonderful news- puppy mill puppies are very hard to train plus it is very cruel

that's what I love about CA - they are the first to jump in head first with whatever!! I miss it. I'm originally from the Bay Area

I think NJ is the last to do much of anything - ie, here where I live here in NJ stores are still closed on Sundays

here in PA too, but on Wednesday's its go to meeting day, they close the stores and banks at 5pm, it use to be at noon.
