Do you take your bully to dog parks?

We do the dog park occasionally when Sancho is just a ball of energy. He tends to be a bit of a bully sometimes, so the other dogs usually just avoid him. Then he figures it out and plays nicely.

A bit off-topic, but we've only had one instance where we thought Sancho might get hurt and that was at a local pub where dogs are allowed on the patio. Some guy apparently brought his two boxers off-leash around 2 pm and left them there. We got there around 9 pm after puppy kindergarten and they were still there... SEVEN HOURS. He apparently knew the owners and so they didn't do anything about it. UGH! The female kept picking fights with Sancho and after the third time, someone finally called the owner (from the dog's tags) to come get them. He showed up 30 minutes later high as a kite...he couldn't even get the leashes on them. Some guy who drove him finally had to come over and do it for him. PATHETIC.

Kaida loves going to the dog park. We have been to two so far - one small park near our home and another about a half hour away that has a creek that the dogs can wade around in. In the small park - there were minor issues in the beginning when we went as all of the little dogs swarmed her and some were barking and growling - I would step in and correct them and shoo them away from her until they could behave.

We have had no issues at all at the large park we go to on Saturdays. She loves it and went in the water last weekend. We went for a Bulldog Meetup and she had a blast playing with a few other bullies - one that was a bit younger than her and another that was 10 months.

As it's been pretty positive and she enjoys being around people and dogs - I think it's something we'll continue until something becomes an issue...
