We took Winston in for his new puppy check on Saturday. We took a stool sample with us. Our vet called today and said he has coccidiosis and hook worm. He has loose stools and sleeps a lot but other than that seems very playful. She didn't seem overly concerned, just left a voicemail for us to pick up medicine for him. Is it likely that our other dog would catch this from him? Should we get her tested? She seems fine and her stools are normal.

Your other dog can get hookworm from Winston's :poo: so be sure to clean up immediately and bleach the area if you can, and Coccidia is VERY contagious, so you might want to keep them separated.

I would call your vet office and remind them you have other animal(s) in the home

Hope the meds help quickly and your other dog doesn't get anything. Good Luck!

He seems to be doing a little better. We have been having our other dog go potty out front so she isn't exposed to his :poo:. So far she has avoided catching anything from him.
