Brooklyn doesn't have a collar. He wears a harness! No collar fits him that well and we heard its not so good for their breathing anyway :) we do however have an e-collar for training that has worked miracles in our house!!! He transforms to a different dog when we put it on! And we never have to shock him! That's only hen bad rebel Brooklyn comes out! Other than that he walks around the house naked ;)

Gio also wears a harness, we have a kong brand harness that is great. Looks brand new after many months of Gio rolling around in dirt!:D

I use martingale collars; comfy nylon (in sassy designs of course) that have a section that's chain. The noise the chain makes (when I pull on it in a a very specific way) is a correction tool. Bo can be a puller when on the leash and a harness would just make that problem worse. Once I get him strapped to that wagon I have, he'll need to wear a harness for pulling purposes. :D

and bubuloon - Never use an e-collar unless you have been trained by a knowledgeable dog behaviorist to use it.

Brutus wears a harness. The collars are not good for their necks and could possibly damage their throat if pulling to hard!

We started with a collar but recently switched to a harness, and I definitely think it is the way to go for Rook. Whether you decide to use a collar or harness, there is always an adjustment period while they get used to wearing it.

Harness all the way!! I also have a kong harness and love love love it.....little pricey but worth it. Coop wears his harness on walks and playing outside. Inside he use to not wear anything but I bought him a colar a couple months ago. Key to a colar is just getting one the right size. Bullies grow so fast so you have to keep any eye on it. I have Coops very loose. It is more to show everyone he has a home and is loved if he would happen to get out and run!!!! If he really wanted to it is loose enough he could probably get it off by himself!!!

Around the house I don't put anything on my babies but to go out Nigel has a collar and Karly has a harness. I tried the harness on Nigel but he prefers the collar. It's almost time to get a larger one too - I like him in a spike collar of course ;)

If you r getting a regular neck collar I recommend what is called a break away collar. They break of in case the pup gets snagged day on a drawer pull. So they can't be strangled. Cuttys breeder tools me to get one when we got him cuz one of her pups died in its new moms home, jumped up and hung itself on a drawer pull. Sad. My pups don't usually wear them tho.

Harness is the only way to go, just put your self in his position having something around your neck chocking you everytime you get ahead of someone.
