Jeannie, I haven't heard of go pet plan before but i'll do a little research on them. Thanks!

@Vicaroo1000, so you have trupanion as well? isn't that a total bummer?!

Henny, I just did a quote for you giving Tate's BD as 1/4/11 with a $200 deductible at 80% (that's what I have), with your zipcode. I couldn't remember Tate's BD but I know he's close to Wilson. The price stays the same say if he was born on 12/20/11 (wanted to see if it was different if it was 2010). They cover all congenital illnesses too. I have the Silver plan for all three of my kiddos.

    Bronze Silver Gold
    veterinary expenses $8,000 $12,000 $20,000
    extra policy benefits for Tate
    boarding kennel & cattery fees - $250 $500
    advertising and reward - $250 $500
loss due to theft or straying - $250 $500
death from illness or injury - - $1000
    vacation cancellation - - $1000

That's correct on the max amount, per year though. It's really a good plan. Call them too, they're even courteous on the phone, unlike VPI was for me. Let me know if the works. Pre-existing conditions of course are not covered. Like Jack's HOD is not covered because he was on VPI at the time he got sick, bummer for me as you know.

I use to have VPI, but the refused to cover Vegas for anything due to his epilepsy....so I switched to trupanion. They cover Vegas, just not for anything epilepsy related. I also got that increase letter. I have no deductible and I pay 120.79 for full coverage on both the pups.

We use VPI and it has been pretty good so far. Cleo had developed a small (ok, HUGE) fatty warty tissuey thingy growing on her belly and we got most of our money reimbursed for the surgery. I would definitely recommend trying it out.

@kaikousha I have VPI and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I know some people on here have not been the biggest fans of it, but I can only say what my experiences have been. We have submitted 7 claims in a year for medication, testing, etc and they have been fast, couterous and have reimbursed a good chunk of change. We pay roughly $35 a month I think. It gets taken directly out of my account so I forget.

Like I said above I have VPI but I know it doesn't cover everything. I didn't know if some of the insurance suavy people on here could tell me the big things VPI does not cover compared with Gopetplan (as I saw them mentioned above). Would def think of switching especially is Guinness gets more coverage with not a huge fee hike.

@wfd38383 that's good to know, thanks for chiming in with your VPI experience! I liked Trupanion, they were very prompt, but it's just too expensive. If Gopetplan ends up being a better deal for you + covers more keep me updated?
