This is cross posted from the Limping Puppy thread in Bulldog Health but I was wondering if anyone else's little one sits similar to this:

I am trying to figure out if this is a symptom of Truman's possible hip issue (see Limping Puppy thread) or just the way some pups sit?

Thanks!

No, I am so sorry, I have NEVER seen any bulldog sit like that!

Do you want me to post this on facebook and see what the 1500+ fans say?

Gracie was sitting like that just today. I've also seen it in other bulldog pictures. I don't know if it's a sign of a problem or not though.

I stand corrected. Bruce tells me she way lying down not sitting up on her front paws that way, but the rear end was splayed out just like that. And he's right.

No, I have never seen Gertie do that! She lays sometimes with her legs out behind her like that, but not when sitting.

I would agree. The girls lay down like this often, but I have never seen them sit like this. I hope is it just a "double jointed" issue and nothing serious.

Thanks everyone - the orthopedic surgeon said she could tell by the way he walks that his hips have a very high level of laxity so he really shouldn't be that flexible. So I guess chances are if something doesn't look right, it's not!

Don't know if it helps or not but both my miniature schnauzer and black lab mix sit like that and sometimes drag themselves along the floor a little. We think the black lab learnt/copied it off the mini schnauzer. They have never shown any problem with any kind of hip or other joint issue! We usually say they're practicing their yoga!
